Job Summary
The Transfer Department of Jefferson Community and Technical College has an opening for a Transfer Coordinator. The primary responsibility of this position is to work with students, faculty and staff to ensure a seamless transition to incoming transfer students and students transferring to partner colleges/universities.
Job Duties:
Duties include but are not limited to:
• Maintain caseload comprised of 1st semester students who have transferred to Jefferson.
• Represent Jefferson on the KCTCS Transfer Peer Team.
• Collaborate with faculty, staff and 4-year partners to create/establish transfer pathways.
• Collaborate with 4-year institutions and professional schools to schedule campus visits, information sessions, and workshops on Jefferson campuses.
• Organize Annual Transfer Fairs in Fall and/or Spring semesters.
• Travel to various 4-year colleges/universities. May require some evening and/or weekend hours.
• Collaborate with Admissions, Records and other institutional departments to assess and support enrollment of current and prospective transfer students to and from Jefferson.
• Work to provide student, faculty & staff information regarding transfer.
• Update and maintain the Transfer Center website and other information sources.
• Maintain data on students identified as incoming transfer students.
• Provide advising (in-person and virtual) with in-coming transfer students.
• Ability to evaluate official and unofficial transfer credits for appropriate course enrollment.
• Utilize retention management software for scheduling, adding advising notes, making appropriate referrals, and reporting.
• Assist with college retention and outreach initiatives.
• Other duties as required to support a focus on college transfer and student success.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree (Education, Higher Education, Counseling, or related field), and two years related experience, or equivalent. Candidates should have experience in higher education, preferably at a community college, and should be flexible and have the ability to manage multiple tasks. Candidates must have excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree and additional related experience preferred.
Candidate will have strong interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills. Must be able to multi-task and think independently.
