Tutor for Nursing Full Description

Provides individual and small group tutoring sessions in various academic disciplines and integrates study and learning strategies to promote learning; facilitates learning by acting as an academic coach or mentor; assists with the development of training materials, activities and workshops.

Primary Duties Performed

Provides individual and small group tutoring sessions in various academic disciplines in order to facilitate student mastery of concepts or applications of a specific course of study.
May facilitate learning as a coach or mentor to assist students in becoming successful, independent learners.
Integrates effective study and learning strategies to maximize student potential for academic progress.
May assist students with the use of institutional and instructional technology.
Assists with the development and delivery of tutor training.
Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Experience

Associate’s Degree with 6-9 credit hours and at least a 3.0 GPA in the desired or a closely related tutoring discipline, and at least one (1) year relevant experience.
Ability to work flexible hours and evenings as needed. Hours may vary.
