Tutor for Nursing Full Description

Provides individual and small group tutoring sessions in various academic disciplines and integrates study and learning strategies to promote learning; facilitates learning by acting as an academic coach or mentor; assists with the development of training materials, activities and workshops.

Primary Duties Performed
  • Provides individual and small group tutoring sessions in various academic disciplines in order to facilitate student mastery of concepts or applications of a specific course of study.
  • May facilitate learning as a coach or mentor to assist students in becoming successful, independent learners.
  • Integrates effective study and learning strategies to maximize student potential for academic progress.
  • May assist students with the use of institutional and instructional technology.
  • Assists with the development and delivery of tutor training.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Experience
  • Associate’s Degree with 6-9 credit hours and at least a 3.0 GPA in the desired or a closely related tutoring discipline, and at least one (1) year relevant experience.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and evenings as needed. Hours may vary.
