Flexible hours. HVAC evening classes typically run until 10:30 p.m.

Job Summary:
Provide drop-in, private, or online tutoring as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Knowledge of HVAC systems; basic electricity.
  • Must be responsible, independent workers who maintain an on-time commitment.
  • Must possess sensitivity to the needs of disadvantaged/at-risk students.
  • Must possess sensitivity for students of all cultures and backgrounds.
  • Knowledge of, or willingness to learn, how to tutor students with disabilities.

Desired Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Previous teaching experience preferred, especially with high school or college level students.

Essential Duties:
  • Provide drop-in, private, or online tutoring as assigned.
  • Reinforce classroom instruction, encourage academic progress, and maintain an atmosphere conducive to learning. Maintain confidentiality regarding the students they serve.
  • Maintain student records, timesheets, and other paperwork.
  • Attend department meetings and training sessions. Participate in discussions regarding ways to better serve students.
  • Refer students to the Senior Director of Academic Support Services, if appropriate.
