The Donald G. Costello College of Business at George Mason University is one of the largest business schools in Virginia, located near Washington, D.C., in Arlington and Fairfax, and at George Mason’s global campus in Incheon, South Korea. About the Position:
The Undergraduate Recruitment and Engagement Specialist provides administrative, logistical, and recruitment support to the recruitment and outreach function within the Costello College of Business Undergraduate Programs team. The position represents the College during admission and recruitment events, both on- and off-campus, and supports new, current, and returning students throughout their Mason experience in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
Administrative Recruitment Support and Outreach:
  • Assists with day-to-day operations of Undergraduate Recruitment and Engagement, including outreach via phone, email, and mass communication systems
  • Expands and maintains freshman and transfer student population pipelines, including from NOVA and other VCCS campuses
  • Coordinates and conducts prospective student appointments and group information sessions
  • Pre-advises transfer student populations in coordination with Academic Advisors
Event Planning and Coordination:
  • Coordinates recruitment events including fairs, open houses, and on-site visits
  • Develops and implements Shadow Day opportunities for high school students and community partners
  • Plans at least one "NOVA Night" in partnership with NOVA staff per semester
  • Collaborates with stakeholders on central and college-specific recruitment activities for first-time freshmen
Support Student Leadership Council:
  • Supports the Student Leadership Council, including all staffing needs
  • Provides guidance and mentorship for council members
  • Secures volunteers for each prospective student admissions event
Collaboration with College of Business Student Services:
  • Collaborates with student services to ensure policies and events are communicated to prospective students and guests
  • Serves as liaison between Admissions Counselors and College of Business Academic Advisors
  • Hosts transfer workshops for transfer and ADVANCE student populations
Liaison to College and University Constituents:
  • Represents Undergraduate Recruitment and Engagement to University and College partners, including Marketing and Communications, Enrollment Management, Housing and Residence Life, and Alumni Relations
  • Serves as liaison between MarCom and recruitment teams
  • Collaborates with campus partners on experiential learning programs for College of Business students

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience in a higher education environment, preferably within admissions, recruiting, or enrollment management
  • Familiarity with student affairs and admissions/enrollment management processes
  • Knowledge of recruitment and admission trends within higher education, community colleges, and adult student outreach
  • Excellent customer service, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and University applications such as Banner, MicroStrategy, and Salesforce
  • Ability to work independently, maintain confidentiality, and complete multiple tasks within tight deadlines
  • Must possess an active, valid motor vehicle operator’s license meeting Mason’s Vehicle Use Policy requirements

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in related field
