Posting Summary  | Oversee operational planning, staffing, and management of the UVM Bookstore’s $3,000,000 technology department. Coordinate and supervise the purchasing, receiving, invoicing, distribution, display, and sale of Apple and Dell systems, Adobe Creative Suite subscriptions, extended warranties, and related accessories. Offer one-on-one consultations to faculty, staff, students, and campus departments to assist them with their technological needs and handle complex point-of-sale questions and transactions. Direct the TechStore team, including a team of student workers, and assist with IT issues and website maintenance. Develop and implement department-specific marketing and promotional plans and coordinate Back-to-School and other annual special events and projects for the TechStore.
Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience)  | Bachelor’s degree in a related or specialized field and four to five years related or specialized experience. Supervisory experience in a retail setting is preferred. Supervision in a union environment is highly desirable. Demonstrated ability to use Word, Excel, and Inventory Management/Point-of-Sale programs. Extensive knowledge of retail operations (inventory control, basic retail math, merchandising, and marketing), vendor policies and procedures, and customer service required. Strong interpersonal communication skills, both written and oral is required. Strong analytical skills and ability to work in a demanding, highly charged environment with multiple deadlines is required.
