Job Summary:
The VP of Learning & Development is directly and indirectly responsible for the overall management of learning & development, and policies and procedures relating to property operations. Plans, creates, delivers, and coordinates, training and employee development programs for Multifamily by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate facilitators and mentors.
 
Supervisory Responsibilities:
The position directly supervises the Learning Manager and indirectly manages subordinate staff (Learning Specialists). Fulfills supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Company’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems, developing staff and building a strong pool of resources.
 
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
• Executes strategic vision for Learning & Development.
• This position customarily and regularly exercises discretion and independent judgement.
• Assesses learning effectiveness by creating and evaluating learning surveys, or other methods, to ensure new skills and techniques are being incorporated into employee work behaviors. 
• Conducts need analysis and confers with managers and supervisors to determine training needs; creates development plans and training/instructional methods and procedures appropriate for situations when learning or teaching new topics.
• Formulates training policies, programs and schedules based on knowledge of identified training needs, including changes in business rules, technology systems, new product roll outs, procedures, services, and Fair Housing regulations.
• Determines and selects appropriate instructional procedures or methods such as individual training, group instruction, eLearning, webinars, self-study, surveys, demonstrations, role play, and computer-based training to appeal to and meet needs for all types of learning styles.
• Develops and organizes the Leader’s and Participant guides for each class, including training manuals, reference library, testing and evaluation procedures post class, multimedia visual aids, and other educational materials.
• Trains assigned facilitators and employees in effective leasing and sales techniques, and other training such as onboarding, orientation, leasing and soft skill sales techniques, follow up, CRM, shopping evaluations, follow up plans, management development, and changes in policies, procedures, and technologies.
• Research and recommend outside consultants and trainers to conduct training in specific relevant topics as needed.
• Ensures the training database, LMS is up to date; that attendance in all training courses is properly recorded and mandatory training is attended.
• Create trainee surveys for trainees and prepare statistical reports to evaluate the performance of instructors and monitor the progress of trainees and training sessions. Use information to improve the quality of the training based on responses.
• Compiles data and analyzes information that measures KPIs in various areas against benchmarks. Make training recommendation based on results of KPI analysis.
• Analyzes past and current year training requirements to prepare budgets and justify funds requested and prepares the annual budget for the Learning Department.
• Stays abreast of landlord-tenant laws in the states where SRG Residential operates through membership with apartment associations and law firms.
• Responsible for updating and maintaining the SRG Residential policy & procedure, and forms manual; for example, additions, policy changes, partner integration changes, changes to landlord tenant laws, etc. 
• Periodically evaluates ongoing programs to ensure they reflect any changes to operational processes.
 
Education and Experience:
• Must have 10 years of training experience.
• Must have 5 years in a training leadership role.
• Prefer experience in multifamily operations.
• Prefer Bachelor's Degree.

Other Qualifications:
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, Adobe Acrobat, and Windows Operating Systems (Windows XP, Windows 7, etc.) Extensive working knowledge in software applications used by property management (Yardi Voyager required, One-Site, preferred).
• Valid driver’s license and current automobile insurance.
• Able to travel up to 25% of the time.
• Able to get along well with others.
• Able to work independently. 

Salary range is $170,000 - $220,000 (based on location) plus bonus potential. We offer a competitive compensation package that includes a 401(K) match, rental incentive and renewal compensation, bonuses, and rental discounts depending on location. Regular full-time employees who work between 30-40 hours a week are eligible for medical, dental, vision, other voluntary benefits and vacation accrual. Sick time accrual is provided in accordance with law.
