Description

VP Product Platform Transformation is a strategic, operational, and cross-functional executive responsible for driving a critical high visibility Platform build and product transformation initiative at PowerSchool. This role, reporting to the CEO, is expected to lead PowerSchool’s platform acceleration effort working across a variety of internal and external/BoD stakeholders. This leader will partner with the CPO, R&D, Finance, Cloud Operations, and GTM teams to ensure the company delivers high-quality, high-impact products with operational excellence, customer-centricity, and financial discipline.

As the company refines its future platform strategy and works with external partners on customer-centered design, product strategy, architecture, and rapid build execution, this leader will serve as the interim Platform Lead / business owner for the initiative.

In this capacity, the role will help translate CEO and investor ambition into a practical roadmap, coordinate cross-functional decision-making, ensure internal teams and external partners are operating against a shared set of priorities. This role is therefore both a durable functional leader and a high-impact transformation operator.

 

Your day-to-day job will consist of:

  • Product Strategy Leadership
    • Partner with executive leadership to define and operationalize the roadmap for a future-state platform strategy spanning multiple products, workflows, and user personas.
    • Help create the governance, planning mechanisms, and KPI structure needed to manage both existing product commitments and platform innovation efforts in parallel.
    • Partner with Product, Finance, Engineering, Support, Services, and Cloud Ops to optimize product investments, COGS, and contribution margins, balancing customer experience with operational efficiency.
  • Platform Transformation Leadership
    • Lead the day-to-day orchestration of PowerSchool’s platform acceleration initiative, serving as the connective tissue across executive sponsors, internal functional leaders, and external partners.
    • •artner closely with the CEO and executive sponsors to define scope, sequencing, success metrics, and stage-gate decisions for the platform program.
    • Ensure the platform effort does not operate in a vacuum by mobilizing the right subject matter experts, customer references, internal artifacts, and technical inputs at the right moments.
    • Serve as a primary operating lead for the platform program’s governance model, including steering committee preparation, decision framing, issue escalation, and follow-through.
    • Partner closely with Product, Finance, and GTM leadership to evaluate, refine, and execute pricing & packaging strategies for new platform.
    • Define and track platform-transformation KPIs, including strategic milestone delivery, customer validation progress, prototype adoption signals, cross-functional dependency health, and readiness for scale.
    • Build dashboards, analytics infrastructure, and review cadences to surface risks early, drive continuous improvement, and ensure accountability across Product and R&D.
    • Consolidate customer, usage, and operational insights to inform prioritization and strategic direction.
  • Cross-Functional Execution & Release Leadership
    • Ensure major platform releases are supported by the right internal readiness across implementation, services, support, customer success, and field teams.
    • Lead cross-functional coordination for major releases involving Product, R&D, Cloud Operations, Customer Success, Support, Marketing, and GTM teams.
    • Ensure alignment of priorities, cross-team dependencies, delivery timelines, quality commitments, and customer-facing readiness.
  • AI-Driven Operational Efficiency & Automation
    • Partner with Engineering, IT, and Product to select and deploy AI solutions that enhance decision-making, eliminate manual work, and improve team throughput.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications

  • 15+ years in B2B SaaS / Cloud product operations, product strategy, or product management, including senior leadership responsibilities.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, or equivalent years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience leading large-scale cross-functional transformation programs that cut across Product, Engineering, GTM, Finance, and Operations.
  • Experience helping define or operationalize platform strategies across multi-product software portfolios, including roadmap sequencing, dependency management, and stakeholder alignment.
  • Experience operating within a $500M-$1B+ ARR, multi-product SaaS or Cloud Platform environment.
  • Demonstrated track record improving product performance and customer satisfaction at scale.
  • Deep familiarity with modern product & engineering tools (roadmapping, backlog, analytics, voice of customer, monitoring).
  • Experience partnering closely with Customer Success, Support, Sales, and GTM teams serving enterprise or institutional customers

A reasonable estimate of the base compensation range for this position is $169,500 - $299,300 USD. This compensation range is specific to the United States and it incorporates many factors including but not limited to an applicant's skills and prior relevant experience and training; licensures, degrees, and certifications; internal equity; internal pay ranges; and market data/range parameters.
