Virtual Systems Engineer II
Position Summary
The Virtual Systems team within MSU IT Infrastructure is responsible for providing and supporting the Virtual Server Infrastructure (VSI) service line, which delivers enterprise VMwareâbased virtualization services to the Michigan State University community. VSI supports a wide range of administrative, academic, and research systems relied upon by faculty, staff, and students across the institution.
Reporting to the Virtual Systems Manager, the Virtual Systems Engineer II will primarily perform the following duties:

This posting will fill 2 positions. Minimum Requirements
This position requires knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program and three to five years of related and progressively more responsible experience in VMware/vSphere/Horizon or compatible virtualization platforms, data center administration, and networking; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Desired Qualifications
Experience with hyperâconverged storage technologies; familiarity with public cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform; strong written and verbal communication skills; demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams; attention to detail; strong organizational and critical-thinking skills; and experience supporting the needs of students, faculty, staff, and business units.
