The Role
Epic is looking for a mid-level Visual Designer with a strong foundation in responsive website design and a sharp eye for visual storytelling. This role blends craft and strategy—you’ll design engaging, conversion-focused digital experiences that bring our brand to life across web and product surfaces.

You’ll collaborate closely with creative, copy, marketing, and engineering partners to translate business goals and user needs into thoughtful, scalable design systems and storytelling moments. From campaign landing pages to in-product banners, your work will help families and educators connect with the magic of reading.

Key Responsibilities
• Design responsive marketing website pages in Figma (desktop, tablet, and mobile)
• Translate wireframes and strategic briefs into polished, user-centered design solutions
• Ensure layouts are optimized for usability, accessibility, and performance across breakpoints
• Develop compelling visual narratives that communicate Epic’s value proposition clearly and emotionally
• Partner with copywriters to align typography, imagery, illustration, and motion with messaging strategy
• Design feature banners and promotional assets that feel cohesive with the broader brand experience
• Work closely with the Creative Director to evolve and maintain visual consistency across digital touchpoints
• Collaborate with PMs and engineers to ensure design accuracy and high-quality implementation
• Participate in brainstorms, design critiques, campaign development and iterative testing
• Clearly communicate design rationale and user-centered thinking to stakeholders

Qualifications
• 3+ years of experience designing responsive websites and/or apps from concept through production
• Deep understanding of responsive design systems, layout principles, typography, and accessibility best practices
• Strong portfolio demonstrating both polished UI craft and strategic visual storytelling
• Expert proficiency in Figma, Photoshop and Illustrator
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication skills and comfort articulating design decisions
• High attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Bonus: Basic knowledge of HTML/CSS and how designs translate to development
