Blue Ridge Community College seeks an energetic Admissions Advisor to provide comprehensive onboarding and enrollment services to all new and prospective students at Blue Ridge Community College interested in certificate, associate degree and workforce training programs. This role will assist students with the application process, academic planning and providing information on educational support services. This position will be responsible for coverage of the Waynesboro Outpost. Travel to off-campus recruitment events may be required as well.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Admissions Advisors are admissions recruiters for the College. They are the primary point of contact for new students, serving as a resource and guide to prospective students and applicants through the onboarding process. The Advisor provides exceptional, high-quality customer service, embracing a holistic model of care and using the case management approach to new student onboarding, decreasing fragmentation of services and providing quality care across a continuum of enrollment requirements. The Advisor will provide guidance and direction from the moment of first inquiry to the time of registration, decreasing the length of time spent from being interested in college to registering for college.

The Admissions Advisor collaborates with colleagues to remediate barriers to prospective student enrollment, with the goal of enrolling a prospect within 24 – 48 hours of first inquiry. The successful Admissions Advisor will:

Provide community outreach and informational sessions on BRCC programs and course options to large and small groups Assist with campus tours, school visits and orientation sessions Develop and maintain a schedule of recruitment and onboarding communication Assist students with completion of required documents and enrollment tasks Review incoming application materials and documents Review and resolve any student holds Understand program and course requirements in order to advise students appropriately concerning academic, workforce development and continuing education courses and programs Assist students with understanding financial obligations, payment options, and aid application processes Monitor and provide communications via departmental inboxes and various phone lines Provide coverage for the Virtual Reception Room
Special Assignments  | May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.

Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team Exceptional organizational and leadership abilities with a proactive, student-centered approach. Demonstrated adaptability and resourcefulness in managing multiple priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment serving diverse student populations.
