Job Summary | The Web Application Developer II will work closely with customers, business analysts, and team members to understand business requirements that drive the analysis and design of quality technical solutions. These solutions must be aligned with business and IT strategies and comply with the organization’s architectural standards. Involved in the full systems life cycle and is responsible for designing, coding, testing, implementing, maintaining and supporting application software that is delivered on time and within budget. Makes recommendations towards the development of new code or reuse of existing code. Responsibilities also include participation in component and data architecture design, performance monitoring, product evaluation and buy versus build recommendations. Has experience in systems analysis, design and a solid understanding of development, quality assurance and integration methodologies. The annual salary for this position ranges from $70,000 to $80,000. The final offer will be based on the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and overall fit for the role.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities | Participates and occasionally lead in the design, coding, testing and deployment of applications based on technical specifications using industry’s best practices and standard toolsets. Works with team developers in applications development, schedules, and activities, assists in troubleshooting development and production problems across multiple environments and operating platforms. Collaborates with team developers in working with clients to effectively document the customer’s business processes and requirements and follow Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC). Will assist Sr Developers in the mentoring of Jr Developers. Follows the standards and best practices, utilizes templates and adheres to the code standards provided by Sr Developers. Works with the team in code review and testing. Will assist the Sr Developers in defining and developing the best practices, code standards and templates. Creates technical specifications and detailed software design documentation to be reviewed by Sr Developers. Work with business customers and other IT team members to troubleshoot problems pertaining to supported applications. Take ownership in implementing the resolution to the customer’s satisfaction. Performs other duties as assigned Job Specific Duties: Meet SDLC compliance in the development and documentation of coding, scripts, and workflows. Implement and ensure accessibility best practices (WCAG) throughout development lifecycle. Develop and maintain design UI systems and component libraries to ensure consistency across team products. Monitor and improve key UX metrics and analyze user behavior and feedback. May design wireframes or prototypes for new systems and components.
Minimum Qualifications | Bachelor’s degree in one of the following areas: Computer Technology, Information or Computer Systems. Five (5) years of hands-on systems analysis, software development, design, and application development experience or an equivalent mix of education and relevant experience in similar role. Two (2) years of Sitecore Experience with knowledge of Sitecore Templates, Layouts, components, Sitecore API. Experience and strong understanding of all phases of the application development lifecycle. Experience designing and developing applications based on the system requirements, utilizing web technologies. Experience and strong understanding of Web Application Development architecture, and infrastructure, including Application Servers, Web Servers, Cloud Technologies and Web Application Security. Experience and strong knowledge of JavaScript, HTML, CSS. Experience with version control tools, such as SVN/Git, DevOps. Experience and proficient with Oracle, PL SQL coding, stored procedures, packages, indexes, triggers, creating tables, etc. Experience in Business Analysis for business process mapping.
Preferred Qualifications | Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science. Eight (8) years of systems analysis, design, and software development experience. One (1) year experience developing Mobile Applications utilizing the ModoLabs platform. Two (2) years experience in designing and developing on Sitecore MVC, HELIX, Platform, and Sitecore on AWS (Amazon Web Services). Two (2) years experience working with Agile and other Project Management methodologies. Sitecore Solution Developer Certification. Experience in .NET/C#, MVC 5 Framework/Entity Framework 6, Sitecore CMS V9.x – 10.x, JavaScript/jQuery, HTML5, and CSS. Experience developing in Laravel/PHP Framework with solid skills in Web Application Development using MVC. Experience with Linux/Unix systems RedHat. Experience with basic Linux system administration skills are a plus. Experience and in-depth understanding of SQL relational databases. Experience and proficiency in JavaScript, CSS3 and HTML5.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities | Strong knowledge of design patterns and software development best practices. Solid skills in writing software applications, including complex problem analysis and implementing the solution in code. Ability to write maintainable, well- structured, well-documented code. Well versed knowledge in all phases of the application development lifecycle and project management disciplines. Ability to work well in a team environment and follow the directions of Sr Developers in assigned tasks. Has the ability to assist the Sr Developers in leading team when required. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required for communicating with internal and external parties.
