Job Summary
The Web Software Developer will maintain and update web-based applications, databases, and servers for existing web-based software. Responsible for writing advanced web authoring code, designing or integrating graphics and databases for the web site(s) and keeping abreast of the latest hardware and software needed for the maintenance of the site(s) on a continual basis.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Work with Director to create and manage custom developed web-based tools.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot existing for several websites and web-based systems
  • Performs maintenance on web-based tools and databases as required.
  • Participate in the change management, problem management and other IT related processes.
  • Performs upgrades on equipment and software packages.
  • Troubleshoots, debugs, and implements software code.
  • Contact and work with administrators, other team members, and external clients as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in field relating to Computer Science.
  • Three (3) years of practical work experience in computer-related field.
  • Three (3) years hands-on experience working in web-based software environment or an equivalent mix of education and relevant experience in similar role.
  • Must be adept in Microsoft Office products.
  • Proficient in HTML, CSS, and Web Accessibility with working knowledge of relational databases.
Preferred Qualifications
  • IT certification and UT Arlington experience.
  • Good communication skills.

  • Experience using Adobe ColdFusion and MS SQL.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and SharePoint.
  • Proficient skills with the following programming languages: SQL, ColdFusion, JavaScript.
  • Proficient skills with the following Web Markup Languages: HTML, CSS.
  • Able to troubleshoot mobile device software such as iOS, Android, and Blackberry.
  • Extensive knowledge of various Operating Systems such as Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8, Windows Server 2008 R2.
  • Extensive knowledge of computer hardware troubleshooting.
  • Able to recommend and quote technical software/hardware needs.
  • Knowledge of configuring and maintaining Web Hosting Environment.
  • All projects require the ability to work as a team and will require working and communicating with faculty, staff, internal and external clients.
  • Must be able to create and edit code with accuracy.
  • Ability to have accuracy to troubleshooting and maintaining applications and databases is essential.
