Academic Success Coordinator / Retention Coordinator
School of Electrical, Computer and Energy Engineering (ECEE)
Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering - Tempe Campus
The School of Electrical, Computer and Energy Engineering (ECEE) at Arizona State University is seeking a dedicated Academic Success Coordinator focused on undergraduate student retention. This position plays a key role in supporting student success through academic advising, retention initiatives, and coordination of ASU 101-EEE courses. The coordinator will serve as the unit's expert on retention strategies, systems, and processes, and will report to the Tempe campus advising manager. Salary range $48,600- $57,900

Academic Advising
· Provide individualized and group advising to ECEE undergraduate students via in-person, phone, email, and video conferencing.
· Support student success and timely graduation by addressing academic concerns and making appropriate referrals to university resources.
· Communicate university, college, and school policies and procedures clearly to students.
· Utilize advising tools and software to monitor progress and support student success.
· Collaborate with academic departments and student services across ASU to ensure comprehensive support.
· Maintain accurate and timely student records and communications.
Retention Outreach & Coordination
· Identify students at risk of leaving the major or college and develop targeted outreach strategies.
· Analyze retention data using university systems such as Analytics and Salesforce.
· Partner with the Associate Director in Academic and Student Affairs (ASA) to design and implement retention campaigns and follow-up plans.
· Train advisors on retention systems, tools, and best practices.
· Develop transition advising strategies to support students changing majors or transferring into/out of ECEE.
ASU 101-EEE Course Coordination
· Ensure sufficient ASU 101 sections are offered each semester to serve all first-year students and recruit faculty and student leaders for each class.
· Facilitate communication of ECEE-specific initiatives, events, and resources to instructors and section leaders.
· Collaborate with faculty and advisors to annually update and enhance the ASU 101 curriculum based on ASA guidelines.
· Organize and lead annual training session for ASU 101 faculty and staff.

- Experience building and modifying Canvas shells
- Experience giving presentations or leading first year success classes
- Experience advising undergraduate students from diverse backgrounds
- Experience advising students in STEM majors
- Experience running reports and using data to make informed decisions regarding student outreach and retention
- Experience working with at risk student populations
- Experience collaborating with a diverse constituency of faculty, staff, and students
- Experience with Salesforce case management
Working Environment:
- Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding and manipulating a computer mouse (75%); frequently required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work (25).
- Regular activities require ability to quickly change priorities which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts.
