| Job Summary/Basic Function: | Provide comprehensive proactive academic advising that facilitates student academic success, retention, and timely movement to degree while assisting students with adjustments and decisions about fields of study, curricular and course selections, career opportunities, and academic and administrative procedures, policies and services. Utilize outreach strategies to enhance advisor/student communications, motivation and relationship building. Monitor student academic progress through a variety of technical systems and implements high impact proactive advising techniques and intervention/referral strategies that promote student growth and success. |
| Minimum Qualifications | Master’s degree by the date of employment and related experience, i.e., collegiate advising, academic counseling, student affairs, etc. Internships and practicums are acceptable as relevant experience. OR Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of two years of related experience, i.e., collegiate advising, academic counseling, student affairs, etc. Internships and practicums are acceptable as relevant experience. |
| Preferred Qualifications | Experience with university computer systems or similar computer technologies, i.e. BANNER Admin, uAchieve, Slate-Student Success. Experience working with diverse student populations; experience working collaboratively with large groups. |
