Academic Advisor, First & Second Year Experience, New Students - CAS Full Description

Position Summary:

The College of Arts & Science is seeking a talented Academic Advisor to join the New Student Advising Team. The Academic Advisor, First & Second Year Experience is a member of the College Advising Team, specifically the New Students Team. Reporting to the Assistant Dean of New Students, this position advises a significant cohort of undergraduate students, assists with the planning and development of signature advising programs and is responsible for supporting and collaborating on initiatives designed around augmenting the first and second year experience.

Qualifications:

Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Liberal Arts discipline or relevant field.

Preferred Education:
Master's Degree

Required Experience:
3+ years of relevant experience in advising, including programming development and implementation.

Preferred Experience:
5+ years of related experience.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Ability to work in a fast-paced and collaborative environment. Excellent presentation, verbal and written communication skills. Ability to advise and support diverse student populations and have a strong commitment to liberal arts education. Ability to communicate effectively to individuals at all levels.

Additional Information:

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $70,000.00 to USD $75,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
