Job Description
The Office of the University Registrar is looking for an individual to join our team as an Academic Compliance Specialist. As a member of our team you will play a critical role in performing detailed evaluation and monitoring of undergraduate student records to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely degree completion.

Important Points
1) You will be joining the Office of the University Registrar: a department dedicated to assisting students in navigating their academic journey at Virginia Tech from admission to beyond graduation.
2) You will report directly to the Associate Registrar for Graduation & Academic Compliance. This position is a regular, calendar-year staff appointment.
3) Your primary responsibilities will encompass conducting graduation audits, certifying academic eligibility for NCAA student-athletes, managing diploma production workflows, and enforcing compliance with the Virginia 125% Rule.
4) You will have the chance to expand your knowledge of the university and pursue career advancement within the Office of the University Registrar.
5) The salary of this position is commensurate with experience up to an expected budget max of $45,000 - $46,000, accompanied by a comprehensive benefits package that includes health insurance, paid leave, and retirement options.
To excel in this role, you should possess:
Required Qualifications
-Demonstrated knowledge of standard office practices and procedures
-Strong computer skills to include data entry
-Some knowledge of query language, programs and office applications
-Data analysis experience
-Ability to process large volumes of work while maintaining a high level of accuracy
-Strong communication and analytical skills and the ability to quickly adjust to shifting priorities
-Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
-Ability to interact comfortably and respectfully with all individuals in a diverse multicultural environment
Preferred Qualifications
-Advanced computer experience using large-scale relational databases such as Banner
-Knowledge of computer software programs and applications
-Experience with academic programs and curricular offerings
-Previous reconciliations and proofreading experience
