Position Description
Advertised Job Summary | The Student Success Coach plays a critical role in advancing student achievement and retention by overseeing the delivery of comprehensive support services aligned with grant objectives. This grant-funded position is appointed for a four-year term and is central to ensuring program fidelity, student engagement, and measurable outcomes.Reporting to project leadership, the Student Success Coach coordinates and executes targeted supportive measures for program participants, providing proactive guidance, referrals, and follow-up to promote academic persistence and timely progress toward completion. The position works closely with the Assessment Coordinator to facilitate participant access for data collection, evaluation, and reporting, ensuring compliance with grant requirements and continuous improvement efforts.Key Responsibilities: Implement and manage student support strategies in alignment with grant goals and timelines Provide individualized coaching, mentoring, and referrals to participating students Monitor participant progress and document outcomes to support grant reporting Collaborate with the Assessment Coordinator to facilitate data collection and assessment activities Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with institutional and grant guidelines Serve as a liaison between students, project staff, and campus support services Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree Experience supporting student success initiatives, advising, coaching, or retention programs Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations Preferred Qualifications:Familiarity with data collection, assessment, or program evaluation in higher educationThis position offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on student success while contributing to a high-visibility, outcomes-driven grant initiative.
Job Related Minimum Required Education and Experience | Requires a bachelor’s degree in a job related field and 3 or more years of job related experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of job related certification, training, education, and/or experience.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities | Knowledge of student development theory and best practices in academic success and retention. Understanding of tutoring, mentoring, and academic support program structures Familiarity with barriers affecting student success, including academic, personal, and socio-emotional factors. Ability to design, implement, and evaluate comprehensive student success plans and interventions. Ability to guide students in creating individualized success plans tailored to their goals and needs. Proficiency with learning management systems, student tracking software, and standard office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Ability to build rapport and maintain supportive relationships with diverse student populations. Ability to match mentors and mentees effectively based on goals, interests, and developmental needs. Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and peer mentors to support student success initiatives.
