Job Description:
The Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering is hiring a centralized Academic Personnel Specialist to support faculty and academic professional processes across multiple Fulton Schools and the Engineering Dean's Office.

In this role, you will:
  • Manage academic personnel actions for faculty and academic professional, including probationary reviews, promotion and tenure, sabbatical reviews, career-track promotions, and multi-year reviews across multiple Fulton Schools.
  • Collaboration within the Faculty Administration team in the Dean's Office to ensure efficiency, compliance, and consistency across academic personnel processes.

Working Environment:
Activities are primarily performed in a regular, climate-controlled office setting subject to extended period of sitting. The position requires visual acuity and manual dexterity associated with daily use of desktop computer and requires bending, stooping, reaching and lifting up to 20 pounds. Ability to communicate effectively to perform necessary functions. Work both independently and collaboratively and within a complex structured team. Work from general instruction on standard job duties and specific directions/instructions on new assignments.

Essential Duties:
  • Lead in faculty academic personnel actions across multiple Schools using various university platforms, including probationary reviews, promotion and tenure, sabbatical reviews, career-track promotions and multi-year reviews for faculty and academic professionals.
  • Provide support to the Faculty Administration team in the Engineering Dean's Office, assisting with a wide range of academic personnel action processes.
  • Independently draft correspondence on various subjects requiring sound judgment, originality, and subject-matter expertise.
  • Interpret and apply university and Board of Regents policies related to faculty and academic professionals.
  • Actively participate in meetings and conferences relevant to academic personnel responsibilities.
 
Desired Qualifications:
·       Experience managing faculty and academic professional personnel actions (such as probationary reviews, promotion and tenure, sabbatical reviews, career-track promotions, and multi-year reviews).
·       Experience coordinating and supporting faculty recruitment processes.
·       Proficiency with Interfolio products and implementations, including Faculty Search, Faculty180 (ASU Vita), and Review, Promotion & Tenure.
·       Proven ability to work effectively across various unit environments while managing tight deadlines and rapidly changing priorities.
·       Strong verbal and written communication skills.
·       Demonstrated knowledge of higher education policies and procedures, with an emphasis on academic personnel processes.
·       Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, etc.).
