Job Description Summary

The Coordinator, Student Services and Advising will coordinate all the activities of the Biophysics (BIPH) and Chemical Physics (CHPH) Graduate Programs in the College of Computer, Mathematical and Natural Sciences. The position will facilitate admissions and support progress of the graduate students in the Graduate programs; coordinate and cooperate with departments and campus admission office in management of application and admission processes; serve as program liaison at college and campus meetings; organize and represent the program at special events, seminars and receptions, including commencement; develop and distribute program materials online and in print to prospective students and faculty; and schedule seminars and symposia, working with speakers to arrange travel, lodging and reimbursements.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.

Experience: One (1) year of experience in higher education, academic advising, student personnel administration, or counseling.

Other: Additional work experience as defined above may be substituted on a year for year basis for up to four (4) years of the required education.

Knowledge of recruitment, retention, and customer service best practices.
Knowledge of organization and administration best practices.
Skill in oral and written communication.
Skill in the use of Microsoft Office and Google Workspace products.

Additional Job Details

The Coordinator, Student Services and Advising will coordinate all the activities of the Biophysics (BIPH) and Chemical Physics (CHPH) Graduate Programs in the College of Computer, Mathematical and Natural Sciences (75%), and provide administrative support to the director of the Institute for Physical Science and Technology (25%). The Coordinator will facilitate admissions and work with students directly to support their progress through their graduate programs; coordinate and cooperate with departments and campus admission office in management of application and admission processes; serve as program liaison at college and campus meetings; organize and represent the Institute at special events, seminars and receptions, including commencement; develop and distribute academic program and Institute materials online and in print to prospective students and faculty; and schedule seminars and symposia, working with speakers to arrange travel, lodging and reimbursements.
