Job Description:
The Edson College of Nursing and Health Innovation Student Services team seeks a proactive, service focused, and detail-oriented individual to serve as an Academic Success Advisor, Sr. This role provides comprehensive advising to on-campus and online undergraduate students, all accelerated (4+1) program students, and online graduate students in the Master of Healthcare Innovation, MS Aging, MS Health Care Simulation programs and related graduate certificates.
Position Salary Range:
$54,000 - $62,000
Essential Duties:
Provide individual and group academic advising to support student success, retention, and timely degree completion
Teach ASU 101-NU
Build and maintain collaborative relationships with students, faculty, and staff; serve as a key resource for student support
Monitor student academic progress using systems such as PeopleSoft, Salesforce, and DARS; identify concerns and connect students to appropriate resources
Guide students in evaluating academic options and developing plans aligned with their goals
Lead and support all 4+1 program activities in alignment with college and university priorities
Coordinate recruitment, outreach, and communication efforts for prospective and current 4+1 students
Develop and manage marketing materials, application processes, and program resources
Utilize tracking tools to identify and monitor eligible students and their progression
Maintain accurate program documentation and provide training to advising staff on 4+1 policies and processes
Ensure consistent, accurate, and effective delivery of 4+1 programming
Contribute to initiatives that improve student satisfaction, program effectiveness, and retention outcomes
Represent the college at orientations, recruitment events, and workshops
Support departmental and university initiatives and collaborate with leadership to enhance programs and student success strategies
Coordinate programs and outreach efforts that support student progression and graduation
Assist in training and onboarding of advising staff and contribute to continuous improvement of advising practices
Prepare reports and documentation using available dashboards and analytics; resolve complex student issues and escalate concerns as appropriate
Perform other duties as assigned
Regular activities require ability to quickly change priorities, which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts
Regular review of completed tasks
Use critical thinking to make decisions and/or analyze and report data/results of tests conducted
Deliver presentations to a variety of audiences

Desired Qualifications:
Knowledge of basic leadership practices
Skill in preparing detailed reports on a timely basis
Ability to clearly communicate to perform essential functions
Work collaboratively across various departments, as well as with groups across the University
Use computers effectively - including inputting, reviewing, retrieving information, extended periods of viewing screen, and using mouse and keyboard
Ability to use calculator, telephone, computer (monitor, keyboard, and mouse), printer, fax, and copier
Professional representation of department/programs
Ability to respond to emergency situations
Select and attend professional development opportunities provided by ASU HR
Monthly formal check-in meetings with supervisor on goals and professional development
Evidence of a Masters degree in higher education, student personnel administration, education, nursing/health, or closely related field
Demonstrated knowledge of management and supervisory principles and practices
Demonstrates experience of providing service to students and/or customers
Demonstrated knowledge of basic project management and organizational practices
Demonstrated knowledge of functionality of CRM programs and higher education student information systems
Experience in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with internal and external clients
Experience in developing and conducting group presentations targeted to programming, perspectives, or audiences
Demonstrated knowledge of the principles, practices, methods and techniques of customer service
Working Environment:
Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding and manipulating a computer mouse
Required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk (light, moderate, long) distances to perform work
Required to work (weekends, evenings, nights, on-call as regular part of the job)
May be required to perform tasks in the field within and/or across University campuses
Will be required to travel (for events, between campuses)
Work in a school or community setting
Hybrid work schedule
Position may involve shared offices/space
This position is full-time, and the incumbent must be available Monday - Friday, 8am-5pm
The primary work location is the Downtown Phoenix campus, but a presence on other campuses or at off-campus locations may be required
