Context of Job
Academic Coaching and Tutoring (ACT) provides tutoring and other academic support of the UD community. ACTâs mission is to empower students to develop academic skills and strategies that will pave the way for future success.
Under the general direction of the ACT Director, the Academic Success Coach II is responsible for promoting a positive and successful learning experience to increase student retention, success and degree completion. The Academic Success Coach II facilitates one-on-one meetings with undergraduate students to provide holistic academic support as they move toward their academic, personal and professional goals.
In addition, the Academic Success Coach II is responsible for program design development, planning, and works with the Director of ACT to propose new initiatives, set goals and propose solutions to coaching issues and other University-wide student success issues that affect the quality of services provided for all students.
In collaboration with other units and colleges across campus, the Academic Success Coach II oversees projects and initiatives that extend beyond coaching support. The Academic Success Coach II is expected to assist and serve as a consultant to programs and events for new students and supports university-wide programs such as New Student Orientation, First Year Seminar, etc. Additionally, the Academic Success Coach II assists with program development, management, evaluation/assessment, workshops, presentations and outreach within budgeted resources.
