At Tutor Me Education, we are revolutionizing the way students learn, and we're seeking passionate teachers and tutors with special education experience to provide 1:1 in-home tutoring in Chino, CA! About the Role: As an Tutor at Tutor Me Education, youâll provide personalized, one-on-one tutoring to students with special needs in their homes. You will be responsible for helping students with daily activities, offering moral support, and delivering tailored instruction based on their Individualized Education Plan (IEP).
We are currently hiring for multiple positions across all cities in Chino, CA
Details:
- In-Person Tutoring in Chino, CA
- Schedule: 45 hours a month, 2 sessions a week, 1 hour
- Pay rate ranges from $25-$35 per hour
Ideal Candidate:
- Valid teaching credential required
- Experience working with high school students with ASD and ADHD
- Strong background in English Language Arts, including reading comprehension, writing, and critical thinking
- Experience supporting executive functioning skills (organization, time management, task initiation, and study strategies)
- Familiarity with standardized test preparation and general test-taking strategies for high school and college readiness
- Skilled in breaking down complex reading and problem-solving tasks into manageable steps
- Patient, structured, and consistent, with strong communication skills
- Ability to build rapport with students who may feel overwhelmed by academic demands
- Experience creating structured, goal-oriented sessions that promote independence and confidence
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide targeted academic support in English, including reading comprehension, inference-making, and analytical thinking
- Support writing development, including organization, structure, grammar, and clarity
- Teach and reinforce executive functioning skills, including organization, planning, time management, and study habits
- Provide structured test preparation, including strategies for approaching standardized tests and improving performance
- Break down complex academic tasks into clear, manageable steps to reduce overwhelm
- Support development of problem-solving strategies across academic subjects
- Implement structured sessions with clear goals, routines, and expectations
- Provide consistent feedback and reinforcement to build confidence and independence
- Maintain a supportive and motivating learning environment
- Communicate progress with caregivers and adjust strategies as needed
