JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS

The Ross and Carol Nese College of Nursing is seeking applicants for part-time job of Accessibility and Instructional Design Assistant. The position will be a hybrid position with most of the work being remote and occasional in-person meetings at the University Park campus.

Job duties to include:

  • Review and edit Canvas course content and other documents for accessibility compliance (e.g., adding proper headings, adding alt text, adding and editing video transcripts) 

  • Edit documents including Word, PowerPoint, and PDF's to meet accessibility requirements

  • Utilize accessibility checklist and tools to audit and remediate content on Canvas and documents

  • Document updates and changes to course materials and resources

  • Complete quality assurance reviews of Canvas courses

  • Collaborate with the Instructional Design and Marketing, Communication, & Creative Services teams

Qualifications:

  • Attention to detail with a high level of accuracy 

  • Ability to focus on multiple tasks at once 

  • Basic understanding of tools like Canvas and Microsoft Office 365

  • Interest in or experience with digital accessibility is a plus (training will be provided) 

  • Willingness to learn

  • Dependable

  • Ability to work independently

Schedule:

  • Up to 20 hours per week

Compensation:

The starting hourly rate for this job is $15.00.
