Account Executive (K-12 District Sales at AI EdTech) Full Description

About Thinkverse
Thinkverse (thinkverse.com) is a fast-growing AI EdTech startup founded by a three-time EdTech founder from Harvard and a top Google engineer.

We are building an AI math tutor for every student and an assistant for every teacher. Thinkverse helps students develop mathematical understanding through personalized, Socratic guidance while helping teachers identify misconceptions and differentiate instruction.

Students ask millions of questions on Thinkverse every month, and our district partners have achieved double-digit gains in math proficiency.

We’re scaling quickly, and we’re looking for mission-driven, entrepreneurial people to help shape the future of math education.

The Role
As an Account Executive at Thinkverse, you’ll build new partnerships with small- and midsize school districts across a broad territory. This is a hands-on individual-contributor role focused on generating and closing new district business. You’ll generate pipeline, lead discovery, design pilots, navigate district procurement, and close new business.

You’ll be expected to build much of your own pipeline through conferences, targeted cold outreach, referrals, and thoughtful territory planning. You’ll report to our Director of Sales and receive hands-on coaching while working closely with our implementation and product teams to help partners achieve meaningful instructional impact and a clear return on investment.

During your initial ramp, you’ll learn the product and K–12 buying environment, shadow district conversations, receive direct feedback on early calls, begin prospecting, and build a focused territory plan.

You’ll initially focus on small- to midsize districts across a broad territory. Account and geographic assignments may evolve as the team grows and opportunities develop. As you demonstrate success, you’ll have a clear path to owning larger district accounts and expanded territories.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own and manage the full sales cycle with K–12 districts, from initial outreach through contract signing
  • Build pipeline through conferences, targeted cold calling and emailing, referrals, and territory development
  • Identify and engage decision-makers at every level, including superintendents, chief academic officers, curriculum directors, and math coordinators
  • Lead discovery calls to understand district needs and present tailored solutions
  • Design pilot programs and guide them toward successful outcomes and long-term adoption
  • Collaborate with customer success and product teams to ensure alignment and district satisfaction
  • Represent Thinkverse at conferences, webinars, and regional events
  • Maintain accurate pipeline forecasts and meet quarterly revenue targets
  • Build strong, lasting relationships grounded in trust, impact, and shared goals
  • Travel up to 30%, including for conferences and other events

Qualifications
  • Two or more years of quota-carrying, full-cycle sales experience, ideally in K–12 EdTech
  • Familiarity with U.S. public school systems and K–12 sales cycles
  • A demonstrated record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
  • Demonstrated success creating outbound opportunities through cold calling and cold emailing
  • Experience representing an organization at conferences
  • Bonus: Experience as a former educator or district leader

You Might Be a Great Fit If You…
  • Are an ambitious EdTech seller who has succeeded in school-level or smaller-district environments and is ready to own full district relationships
  • Are a strong communicator and relationship-builder who can connect with everyone from classroom teachers to cabinet-level district leaders
  • Can create momentum without a mature sales infrastructure
  • Are highly coachable and respond well to direct feedback
  • Combine individual accountability with a team-first approach
  • Can balance near-term revenue opportunities with thoughtful territory development
  • Are comfortable testing, learning, and adjusting as the sales model evolves
  • Enjoy digging into a district’s goals and designing solutions that address real problems
  • Understand the education landscape, including funding cycles, procurement processes, and decision-making timelines
  • Are driven by impact and want to help students and teachers succeed
  • Are excited to join a fast-growing startup that is making a difference and building for the long term

What We Offer
  • A base salary of $70,000–$80,000
  • On-target earnings of $140,000–$150,000, with uncapped commission and accelerators
  • A clear growth path from small- and midsize district accounts to larger district partnerships
  • A large sales territory
  • A remote-friendly, flexible working environment
  • Comprehensive health benefits
  • The opportunity to help define how AI improves math teaching and learning
  • The chance to see your work translate into better instruction and student outcomes
