Step into a role as an Accountant at Bright Horizons, you will be primarily responsible for the accuracy and completeness of our financial statements for the respective area of the business that you support. You will take part in ensuring the month end P&L and Balance Sheet transactions are posted timely and will support other areas of the business with related queries. At times you may be asked to speak with external parties, such as clients, and require attention to detail, timeliness, and professionalism. You will receive support from your manager and team as you master the skills to be a successful Accountant at Bright Horizons.
This is a hybrid position requiring 3 days onsite at our headquarters in Newton MA.

Responsibilities
- Timely and accurate posting of accounting transactions as it pertains to the area of the business you support
- Completion and review of balance sheet reconciliations, with careful attention to ensuring fluctuations and balances are appropriate
- Review operating results with senior management, including variances to budget and forecast where necessary
- Identify and escalate any risks and opportunities as you become aware of them
- Collaborate and communicate with the wider finance team members
- Evidence preventative and detective controls to management
- Report financial information to the business and support with follow up queries
- Work professionally as a trusted partner to internal and external customers
- Keep up to date with organizational changes, financial regulations, and the marketplace
- Respond timely and appropriately to issues requiring confidentiality
- Perform ad-hoc analysis as required
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or business degree - A minimum of two years of relevant experience would be considered in lieu of noted college degree - required
- Internship to 3 years of relevant experience - preferred
Additional Job Requirements
- Experience in Month end Accounting
- Balance Sheet experience
- Strong knowledge of MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Exceptional organizational and communication skills
- Detail oriented and ability to prioritize
- Ability to work under tight deadlines
- Comfort with ERP systems

Salary/Hourly Rate and Other Compensation Disclosures:
The annual starting salary for this position is between $62,000 - 65,000 annually. The pay range listed here is what Bright Horizons in good faith anticipates offering for this job opening. Actual compensation offers within this range will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education and training, certifications, geography, and other relevant business or organizational factors.Compensation: 62,000-65,000
