Strategic Financial Role: 
  • Prepare monthly financial reports and analyze data for accuracy and completeness 
  • Assist in developing the CWI Foundation budget and financial statements 
  • Maintain internal controls and accounting procedures for the Foundation 
Impactful Work in Higher Education & Nonprofit Finance: 
  • Support the CWI Foundation’s mission through accurate donation tracking and investment reporting 
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local grant regulations 
  • Prepare audit-ready financial statements and assist with annual 990 filings 
Collaborative & Growth-Oriented Environment: 
  • Work closely with College staff, faculty, and the Foundation team 
  • Serve as the primary contact for general accounting inquiries 
  • Contribute to a dynamic and evolving financial landscape 

Key Responsibilities: 
Financial Reporting & Analysis 
  • Prepare journal entries and reconcile general ledger accounts 
  • Monitor cash and investment accounts and prepare monthly reports 
  • Analyze and interpret financial data for internal and external reporting 
Grant & Donation Accounting 
  • Perform full-cycle grant accounting from award to closeout 
  • Ensure proper recording and administration of all donations 
  • Maintain compliance with donor intent and IRS regulations 
Audit & Compliance 
  • Prepare work papers and financial statements for annual audits 
  • Assist with the College’s audit and ensure FASB compliance 
  • Support the annual 990 tax filing for the Foundation 

What We’re Looking For: 
Education & Experience: 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field (required) 
  • 2+ years of nonprofit/FASB accounting experience (required) 
  • Experience with year-end audits and financial analysis (required) 
  • Higher education accounting experience (preferred) 
Technical & Analytical Skills: 
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, FASB standards, and internal controls 
  • Experience in grant and investment accounting (preferred) 
  • Knowledge of IRS charitable contribution regulations and CASE standards (preferred) 
Professional Skills & Attributes: 
  • Adaptable to a fast-paced, evolving environment 
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and organizational skills 
  • Effective communicator with the ability to manage multiple priorities 

Additional Instructions for Applicants:
Most positions at CWI are in-person and based on campus. While some roles may allow up to two remote workdays per week, eligibility for remote work is determined on a case-by-case basis at the hiring manager's discretion. All candidates must reside within, or be willing to relocate to, a reasonable commuting distance from CWI. Employment visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
