Department Overview:
The Hemostasis & Thrombosis Center (HTC) is home to over 45 faculty and staff, engaged in the clinical, research, public health, outreach and education missions. The HTC is a multidisciplinary center, providing comprehensive care to adult, adolescent and pediatric patients. Function/Duties of Position:
This position provides administrative coordination and program support to the HTC, serving as the community liaison between the Center and external partners.
The ideal candidate will be a highly organized, curious professional who thrives when working with others, enjoys variety in day-to-day tasks that focus on project management and coordination, is a self-starter, is knowledgeable about information technology systems and is interested in understanding and continuously improving programs and projects within the Hemostasis & Thrombosis Center. Required
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- Four years of experience in an administrative position, which included administrative duties, project coordination and oversight, provision of technical assistance, or operations review.
- Intermediate skills with MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
- Experience with event coordination, catering, lectures, and meeting/greeting visitors, affiliates, and high level participants.
- Experience troubleshooting complex technical and logistical issues in large meeting environments
- Demonstrated skills with composing, editing, proofing, and copying written materials.
- Service excellence, computer skills, ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, well-developed organizational and advanced communications, and a team player.
- Must have a proven ability to deal effectively with physicians, subordinate staff, and patients.
- Ability to work well under pressure; be a self-starter; exercise common sense; ability to investigative and research a wide variety of topics highly useful.
- Intermediate skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook).
- Experience working in website editing software, such as Drupal.
- Proficient in Oracle or a similar ordering system, including experience with creating requisitions and receiving.
- Demonstrated previous experience with general financial reconciliation.
- Demonstrated skills with composition, correspondence, editing, and proofreading documents.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate travel arrangements and process travel reimbursements.
- Event coordination, catering, and meeting/greeting visitors and affiliates.
- Demonstrable record of reliable
- attendance, punctuality and proven successful performance at past and present employers.
- Demonstrated evidence of strong written and verbal communication skills; must be detail oriented, self-motivated and able to problem solve; excellent interpersonal and public relations skills; strong organizational skills, must be flexible, creative, with demonstrated professional customer service skills/experience both over the phone and in person; ability to work accurately and without constant supervision.
- Coordinate and run audio/visual equipment for presentations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, Public Administration, Public Health or a closely related field.
- Experience in an academic healthcare or clinical setting; Grant application experience.
- Experience working with the bleeding disorder community.
- Experience making travel arrangements and processing travel reimbursements.
