Administrative Program Support 2 Full Description

JOB SUMMARY
The UConn Center for Clean Energy (C2E2) is seeking dynamic and team-oriented candidates for a full-time Administrative Program Support 2 position. The successful candidate will be open-minded, collaborative, and flexible in addressing the needs of a growing Center with diverse needs. Reporting to the Center Director, the Administrative Program Support 2 position requires an individual with administrative abilities.

C2E2 is an interdisciplinary research center within the College of Engineering focusing on building the next generation of energy technologies. We welcome visitors to our site to collaborate and explore opportunities to conduct research in all aspects of clean energy, including discovering new materials and designing and building new energy devices and systems that enable more efficient energy conversion and storage.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provides Center support on a wide range of fiscal, administrative, and operational matters.
  • Assists with human resource and payroll-related functions of Center personnel (faculty, staff, student workers, special payroll employees, and graduate assistants), as needed.
  • Assists with the financial operations of the Center, including purchasing, accounts payable, HuskyBuy, Concur, grant management, visa applications, and billing, as well as supporting the monitoring and reporting of revenues and expenditures on the Center's financial accounts.
  • Assists in the preparation of financial and ad hoc reports as appropriate to meet federal, state, University, and departmental requirements.
  • Reviews records and transactions for accuracy, reconciles differences, and works with other staff and University personnel to identify errors and make corrections.
  • Acts as a resource for information and procedures in assigned areas.
  • Monitors office supply inventory and coordinates maintenance for office equipment.
  • Assists with special projects as required in support of C2E2 operations, faculty, students, and staff.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • A bachelor's degree and 2 years of related experience. An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be substituted for the degree and years requirement.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of financial, budgeting, or accounting practices and procedures.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and related software applications.
  • Demonstrated skill in critical thinking, problem solving and analysis.
  • Proven attention to detail, communication, organization, written and interpersonal skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience in higher education.
  • Demonstrated experience providing organizational support in a team environment.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, complex, multi-faceted office environment.
  • Proven familiarity with enterprise systems such as Kuali Financial Systems, Core-CT, HuskyBuy, PageUp, Concur, and PeopleSoft.
  • Proven ability to expertly manage time and deadlines, and juggle multiple competing priorities.

This is a full-time, 12-month, annually renewable position based on performance and available funding.
