Job Summary
The Admissions Counselor for the Bound for Success Program provides professional advising and counseling to prospective students and their families throughout the college admissions process. This position supports UTA’s enrollment goals by recruiting new students, building relationships with high schools and community partners, and guiding students from initial interest to enrollment. Working closely with Bound for Success partner districts, the counselor promotes a college-going culture, delivers workshops, and ensures a smooth transition for students admitted through the program.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Manage an assigned geographic territory and recruit new freshman students through outreach, presentations, and events.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for Bound for Success partner schools, students, families, and counselors.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with school personnel and community partners to promote UTA and college access.
  • Advise students and families on admission requirements, financial aid, scholarships, and enrollment processes.
  • Lead college readiness and financial aid workshops at high schools and community events.
  • Maintain a regular presence in partner schools’ College & Career Centers to provide one-on-one and group support.
  • Review and evaluate student applications, communicate eligibility status, and guide applicants through next steps.
  • Plan and support recruitment events, campus visits, and virtual information sessions.
  • Track recruitment metrics, report on progress toward enrollment goals, and support strategic initiatives.
  • Collaborate with campus departments to enhance recruitment and student success efforts.
  • Assists other areas/departments on campus with recruitment efforts.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • One (1) year of experience in admissions counseling, recruitment, or a related field
  • Valid driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Two (2) or more years of experience in an admissions or recruitment role within higher education.
  • Experience in delivering presentations to diverse audiences, including prospective students and families.
  • Experience with Slate or other CRM programs (Customer Relationship Management)
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to multitask in a busy office environment with multiple interruptions, including high volume phone calls and monitoring multiple email accounts.
  • Work well both independently and within a team environment.
  • Ability and knowledge to use standard office equipment.
  • Ability to travel.
