Job Description  | The Admissions Coordinator plays a vital role in the daily operations of the College of Law’s Office of Admissions, providing administrative and customer service support. As the first point of contact at the front desk, this individual ensures a welcoming environment for prospective and enrolled students, faculty, staff, and visitors. Responsibilities include managing communications, coordinating meetings and events, processing transactions, maintaining records, and assisting with logistics for off-campus recruitment. The Coordinator also supports the Law Ambassador Program by overseeing student workers and volunteers and collaborates with leadership on refining processes and correspondence to ensure effective operations. In addition, the Coordinator contributes to data and application management by maintaining accuracy between admissions systems and the University database, monitoring JD and LL.M. applications, and preparing reports for decision-making. The role requires communication with applicants and reviewers, providing guidance on documentation and ensuring a timely review process. Under the direction of the Associate Director and Recruitment/Operations Specialist, the Coordinator evaluates recruitment outcomes, supports policy implementation, and may attend local recruitment events outside business hours.

This position is part of a bargaining unit and is represented by the union SEIU, Local 200United.

Responsibilities  | Serve as the first front desk point of contact for prospective and enrolled students, faculty, staff, and others by phone, in-person, and on email; must provide high level of customer service. Office duties may include answering and managing phone calls; greeting and assisting prospective and enrolled students, faculty, staff, and visitors; creating, completing, and managing documents including appropriate filing; ordering supplies; reserving space, and coordinating meetings. Assist Office of Admissions leadership with editing and revising office correspondence and processes. Handle all incoming and outgoing mail and shipping materials for off-campus recruitment events. Assist with oversight of student workers/volunteers for Law Ambassador Program and their daily tasks. Complete all necessary financial paperwork related to office operations including requisitions, Interdepartmental forms, purchase orders, travel reimbursements, and credit card reconciliations. Work with the College of Law Budget and Operations office as necessary to ensure timely submission of reconciliations and accounting paperwork. Manage applicant information transfers from the admissions database to the Syracuse University student database, including both automated and manual uploads, while proactively identifying and correcting data issues. Design, generate, and modify reports and applications to meet departmental needs. Ensure all JD and LL.M. applications (over 2,500 annually across five programs) are collected, updated, completed, and evaluated in a timely and consistent manner. Monitor application collection and review under the supervision of the Associate Director and Recruitment/Operations Specialist, interpreting Enrollment Management policies on documentation and deadlines. Assist with annual after-action review and analysis of recruitment and yield strategies, ensuring admission and scholarship decisions align with College of Law policies and goals. Communicate with applicants and reviewers regarding documentation, respond to inquiries, and correspond individually via phone, video, and email about programs, joint degrees, and scholarships. Provide follow-up and help build student connections after campus visits. Other Duties as Assigned, including local recruitment events during business hours
