Job Summary
The Admissions Specialist will provide entry-level admissions record processing by sorting, scanning/imaging, search matching, and routing of mail as it pertains to student applications. Responsible for review and management of new and returning student records for admissions purposes and verification of application documents, fee payments, and other admission documents. Perform work in ways that contribute to the university’s successful achievement of enrollment goals. Foster a positive working environment that honors the UTA Principles of Community and leads to healthy levels of productivity and contributes to UTA being increasingly known as a great place to work.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Review new and returning student records for admissions purposes.
  • Verifies admissions documents to ensure records and fee payments are matched to the appropriate student application.
  • Scans transcripts from high schools, colleges, and universities into the imaging system and assigns workflow for evaluation processing.
  • Corresponds with students, officials of high schools, and institutions of higher education concerning admission application documents.
  • Inputting transcript documents to be read by Brainware system and Student Information System for record retrieval.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED and one (1) year of experience in a position requiring attention to detail and processing accuracy.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in admissions in higher education.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Attention to detail.
  • Extreme accuracy in the maintenance of academic records.
