At Tutor Me Education, we are revolutionizing the way students learn, and we're seeking passionate teachers and tutors with special education experience to provide 1:1 in-home tutoring in  Sacramento, CA! About the Role: As an Tutor at Tutor Me Education, you’ll provide personalized, one-on-one tutoring to students with special needs in their homes. You will be responsible for helping students with daily activities, offering moral support, and delivering tailored instruction based on their Individualized Education Plan (IEP).

We are currently hiring for multiple positions across all cities in Sacramento, CA
Details:
  • In-Person Tutoring in Sacramento, CA
  • Schedule: 25 hours per month, 4 times a week for 1.25 hours
  • Pay range is between $25 and $35

Ideal Candidate:
  •  Experience supporting autistic adult learners in academic and functional skill development 
  •  Strong ability to teach reading comprehension, functional math, and real-world problem-solving 
  •  Patient, structured, and skilled at breaking down complex concepts into manageable steps 
  •  Comfortable teaching independent living and employment-readiness skills 
  •  Familiar with comprehension-based learning strategies such as visualization, summarization, and guided discussion 
  •  Able to provide accountability, encouragement, and consistent reinforcement to support progress 
  •  Supportive and engaging personality with strong communication and rapport-building skills 
  •  Comfortable incorporating social-emotional learning (SEL) and real-world social awareness into instruction 
  •  Able to create engaging lessons connected to student interests and practical life applications 
  •  Experience supporting DMV written test preparation and functional academics is highly preferred
Key Responsibilities:
  •  Provide individualized support in reading fluency, reading comprehension, and applied math skills 
  •  Teach strategies to improve comprehension, retention, summarization, and critical thinking 
  •  Support functional math concepts including money skills, time management, budgeting, and real-world problem-solving 
  •  Assist with DMV written test preparation by breaking down questions and reinforcing comprehension strategies 
  •  Reinforce independent living and employment-readiness skills such as workplace expectations and task management 
  •  Support language, communication, and social-emotional learning through discussion-based and practical instruction 
  •  Connect lessons to current events, everyday situations, and real-world applications to strengthen understanding 
  •  Use structured guidance, repetition, and step-by-step instruction to build confidence and independence 
  •  Incorporate student interests such as movies and video games into lessons to increase motivation and engagement 
  •  Maintain a patient, supportive, and encouraging learning environment that promotes long-term growth and independence
