Advanced Specialist, Content Developer Full Description

Job Description

We are looking for an Advanced Specialist, Content Developer (this role aligns to industry-level titles such as International Qualifications Product Developer) to join our expanding team and help to deliver our ambitious growth plans. Our international qualifications team is responsible for leading the strategy for school-level academic qualifications - across all ages and stages from primary and lower secondary through to International GCSE and International A level - and for providing outstanding support for our customers.

You will work across a wide range of subjects and levels, supporting students and learners in over 80 countries around the world. No two days are ever likely to be the same!

Responsibilities include:

  • Managing the design, development, and internal accreditation process (where necessary) for market winning international academic qualifications and for key elements of the surrounding proposition, creating and delivering support for customers around the world in line with International strategic priorities.

  • Owning and implementing amendments as part of managing the lifecycles of the qualifications.

  • Liaising with external stakeholders to inform the development of qualifications.

  • Collaborating with colleagues from across the business to deliver an excellent customer experience for our international qualifications.

  • Working effectively in virtual teams with colleagues across the business to ensure a positive working culture.

  • Contributing to innovation and improvement in our processes across the team.

Key accountabilities

  • Lead on project management and development of qualifications from scoping, design, commissioning SMEs, editorial and technical development of assessment, content, support materials, review of existing and new qualification materials.

  • Lead internal coordination of development with excellent communication with key stakeholders and teams, presenting evidence to support good decision-making throughout the development process.

  • Lead and manage an ongoing amendments cycle whether for minor amendments or major redevelopments with regular liaison with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Close collaboration and teamwork with the relevant Product Manager owning the qualification to develop and support innovation and operational excellence in our fast-growing international suite of qualifications.

  • Close collaboration and teamwork with the Product Development team to identify needs and opportunities for continuous improvement in our developments.

  • Maintain curiosity for issues and innovations in International Education including competitor products and developments, latest trends and research in International Schools.

  • Liaise with key internal and external stakeholders in the qualification development processes, including assessment designers, the senior examining team, and any national or international regulatory bodies

  • Collaborate on the creation and review of support materials across international qualifications, such as exemplars, schemes of work and topic guides alongside the Product Manager

  • Work alongside Product Managers in the team to collaboratively develop and support our international suite of qualifications.

Essential knowledge, skills and experience: - degree or equivalent experience, teaching and or assessment experience

Excellent time management, prioritisation and communication skills

Ability to work individually or as part of a multifunctional team

Negotiating and influencing skills

Project Management experience including RAID Logs

Desired: design and development experience in international education sector

Proof-reading and editorial skills

Understanding of the Product lifecycle and Product development process

Role location

This is a hybrid role and will require the successful candidate to work from either the Oxford or London offices when required. There may be some opportunities for international travel.
