Description

In this role, you will lead the design and development of high-quality vocational learning products, including qualifications, assessments, and teaching materials. You'll combine subject matter expertise, regulatory understanding, and creativity to deliver solutions that meet learner, customer, and stakeholder needs.

This role aligns with industry titles such as Content Developer, Curriculum Developer, Assessment Specialist, Learning Designer, or Qualification Developer .

The Role

At Pearson, we create learning that drives real progress. In this role, you'll be a subject matter expert trusted to independently lead complex content development projects—shaping products that are both engaging and compliant.

You'll work at the intersection of education, assessment, and product development , ensuring everything delivered is fit-for-purpose, high quality, and aligned to regulatory standards.

In Your First 6 Months

You'll make impact by:

  • Building a strong evidence base to inform product design decisions

  • Leading development of qualifications and assessment materials

  • Lead end-to-end product development (design, approval, accreditation, delivery)

  • Manage delivery to time, budget (OPEX/CAPEX), and quality standards

  • Recruit, brief, and manage subject matter experts and writing teams

  • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure smooth implementation and lifecycle support

  • Monitor product quality, accuracy, and customer experience throughout the lifecycle

  • Identify improvements to enhance learner outcomes and customer satisfaction

  • Represent Pearson in stakeholder engagements (e.g., employers, regulators)

What We're Looking For

Essential

  • Degree (or equivalent)

  • Experience in education, qualifications, or assessment development

  • Strong understanding of assessment principles and techniques

  • Experience balancing commercial goals with regulatory requirements

  • Experience designing or developing qualifications or learning products

  • Project management experience with delivery to time, budget, and quality

  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional / virtual teams

  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills

Desirable

  • Teaching experience
