Advanced Specialist, UX Designer

Description: This role aligns to Senior Content Strategist

T he Role

We're looking for a Senior Content Strategist with a strong editorial and UX writing background to champion strategic thinking and help launch a new product for higher education.

You'll partner closely with design, product, and engineering teams and be responsible for:

  • Developing content frameworks that scale across the product experience

  • Defining the voice, tone, and messaging strategy in alignment with brand guidelines

  • Creating intuitive, user-centered content that drives engagement and learning outcomes

  • Structuring information hierarchies and providing guidance around navigation to best support our users

You will be challenged in an organization that values vision, execution, and persistence. You will take ownership of our content by solving complex communication problems in clear, accessible ways. Content Strategists at Pearson are embedded within product teams that are deeply collaborative, and each member is directly responsible for the team's success.

What You'll Own

As a critical partner on our team, you will define and develop content strategy for full end-to-end user experiences. You'll collaborate with design, product, marketing, and engineering teams throughout the product development process to understand and advocate for user needs through a content lens.

  • Write clear, concise UX copy including navigation, onboarding flows, error messages, and instructional content

  • Establish and maintain brand voice and tone guidelines that ensure consistency across all product touchpoints

  • Define key metrics to track content effectiveness and business impact

  • Approach an open-ended problem space with clarity and strategic vision

  • Think holistically about the content ecosystem and how it supports the user journey

  • Guide content testing and user research, ensuring clarity and consistency

  • Be data-driven and iteratively improve the content experience (e.g. pilots and A/B Testing)

  • Develop content for AI-driven teaching and learning experiences

About You

You bring 7+ years of content strategy and UX writing expertise with a portfolio that demonstrates impact, and you're someone who leads through clarity, collaboration, and user advocacy. Additionally, you are:

  • A strategic thinker and bring pragmatic judgment to every decision, whether you're facilitating content research, advocating for the right level of polish, or navigating technical constraints

  • Equally comfortable crafting precise micro-copy and designing scalable content systems, always grounding your work in what users actually need

  • Able to thrive in cross-functional environments where collaboration is the default—partnering seamlessly with designers, product managers, engineers, and stakeholders to solve complex problems

Compensation at Pearson is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific location. As required by the California, Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York State, New York City, Vermont, Washington State, and Washington DC laws, the pay range for this position is as follows:

The minimum full-time salary range is between $110,000 - $130,000.
