Description: Assistant, Associate, and Director of Development Positions Available

The University of Houston is seeking dynamic, results driven professionals to join our Division of Advancement & Alumni in a variety of development roles at the Assistant, Associate, and Director levels.
 

These positions support colleges and units across the university, offering multiple opportunities to contribute to strategic fundraising efforts, donor engagement, and long-term philanthropic growth.

Job Duties:
1. Manages a portfolio of prospects which are mostly at the level of $100,000 to more.
2. Identifies, cultivates and solicits prospects and stewards donors; works with faculty, staff and volunteers as
appropriate.
3. Provides guidance to the college or unit on major gifts, other developments, and fundraising matters.
4. If assigned to a college or unit, may be responsible for creating and implementing a development plan for
components within the assigned college, including resource management.
5. May administer other advancement activities, such as alumni relations, publications, special events, media
relations, etc. for an assigned college or unit.
6. Participates in University-wide development activities as needed.
7. Performs other job-related duties as required.

Requires a minimum of three (5) years of directly job-related experience. Associate Direct of Development

Job Duties:
1. Manages a portfolio of prospects which are mostly at the level of $50,000 plus.
2. Identifies, cultivates and solicits prospects and stewards donors; works with faculty, staff and volunteers asappropriate.
3. Provides guidance to the college or unit on major gifts, other developments, and fundraising matters.
4. If assigned to a college or unit, may be responsible for creating and implementing a development plan forcomponents within the assigned college, including resource management.
5. May administer other advancement activities, such as alumni relations, publications, special events, mediarelations, etc. for an assigned college or unit.
6. Participates in University-wide development activities as needed.
7. Performs other job-related duties as required.

Requires a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical or professional discipline; or the basic knowledge of more than one professional discipline. Knowledge of the discipline is normally obtained through a formal, directly job-related 4 year degree from a college or university or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program that is directly related to the type of work being performed.

Requires a minimum of three (3) years of directly job-related experience.

Assistant Director of Development 
1. Manages a portfolio of prospects which are mostly at the level of $10,000 plus.
2. Identifies, cultivates and solicits prospects and stewards donors; works with faculty, staff and volunteers as appropriate.
3. May be responsible for planning and implementing one or more annual fund programs such as direct mail, telemarketing, parents, etc.; manage resources assigned to the program.
4. If assigned to a college or unit, may be responsible for creating and implementing a development plan for components within the assigned college, including resource management.
5. May coordinate other advancement activities, such as alumni relations, publications, special events, media relations, etc. for assigned college or unit.
6. Participates in University-wide development activities as needed.
7. Performs other job-related duties as required.
