From simplifying access with single sign-on, to advancing equity with usage analytics, to automating secure rostering, our platform helps schools focus on what matters most: teaching and learning.
We’re not just building tools, we’re building what’s next in education. By removing barriers and enabling data-driven decisions, our solutions help educators lead with confidence and students thrive in and out of the classroom every day.
Our team is driven by purpose and grounded in three core values:
- Strive to Grow - always learning, improving, and innovating.
- Deliver Worthwhile Experiences - for our users, our partners, and each other.
- Contribute with Heart - putting people first in everything we do.
These values shape how we work, innovate, and support the communities we serve. If you’re ready to do work that makes a real difference, and grow alongside a team that values collaboration, support, and continuous improvement. ClassLink is the place for you.
ClassLink looking for a Senior or Principal Agentic AI Engineer who will be a force multiplier across our engineering organization. In this role, you will design, implement, and scale agentic coding workflows that dramatically accelerate software delivery. You will own the end-to-end lifecycle of AI-assisted development—from configuring Claude Code and custom agent toolchains to authoring production-grade skills, PRDs, and automation hooks that teams rely on daily. You will bring deep experience building large-scale, multi-tenant SaaS systems and apply that architectural rigor to how AI agents interact with complex codebases.
Responsibilities:
Agentic Workflow Design & Implementation
- Architect and implement agentic coding workflows using Claude Code, Cursor, and related AI development tools at an organizational scale.
- Design and maintain reusable Skills packages that encode team-specific patterns, frameworks, and best practices for consistent, high-quality AI-generated output.
- Author detailed Product Requirements Documents (PRDs) optimized for agent consumption, enabling autonomous task completion with minimal human intervention.
- Build and configure pre-commit and post-commit hooks, CI/CD integrations, and automated quality gates that govern agent-produced code.
- Develop and manage custom agents and multi-agent orchestration patterns for complex, multi-step engineering tasks.
Scalable Systems Architecture
- Design, build, and maintain large-scale multi-tenant SaaS platforms serving thousands of organizations with strict data isolation and performance guarantees.
- Define architecture patterns for API design, database schema management, tenant provisioning, and horizontal scaling.
- Drive technical decisions on deployment strategies, infrastructure as code, and cloud-native architectures (AWS preferred).
- Establish and enforce engineering standards around security, performance, observability, and reliability across services.
Developer Enablement & Adoption
- Lead the rollout and adoption of agentic AI tools across development teams, including training, documentation, and onboarding programs.
- Create comprehensive documentation, playbooks, and reference implementations that enable teams to self-serve with agent-based workflows.
- Measure and report on productivity gains, code quality improvements, and adoption metrics to demonstrate ROI of agentic tooling.
- Serve as an internal subject matter expert and evangelist for AI-augmented software development practices.
What Success Looks Like
First 30 Days: Audit existing agentic tool usage, identify gaps in skills, hooks, and documentation, and deliver a prioritized improvement roadmap.
First 90 Days: Ship a complete skills package for the primary tech stack, establish standardized PRD templates for agent consumption, and have measurable productivity improvements across at least two teams.
First 6 Months: Organization-wide adoption of agentic workflows with self-service documentation, automated quality gates in CI/CD, and demonstrated reduction in manual testing and development cycle times.
Tech Stack & Tools
Claude Code, Cursor, MCP Servers, GitHub Actions, AWS (Bedrock, ECS, Lambda, RDS), Node.js/TypeScript, Angular, React, Tailwind CSS, PostgreSQL, Playwright, Docker.
This role is 100% remote eligible, with quarterly strategy meetings that are in-person.
NOTE: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive. Employees may be asked to perform other related duties as negotiated to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.
Requirements
- Senior Level: 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, with at least 1 year of hands-on experience with AI-augmented or agentic development workflows.
- Principal Level: 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, with at least 1 year of hands-on experience with AI-augmented or agentic development workflows.
- Deep, hands-on proficiency with Claude Code, including configuration of CLAUDE.md, custom skills, memory, MCP servers, pre/post-commit hooks, and project-level agent orchestration.
- Demonstrated experience authoring production-quality Skills packages that encode domain knowledge, coding standards, and framework-specific patterns for agentic tools.
- Strong track record writing PRDs and technical specifications optimized for agent-driven execution, with clear acceptance criteria and structured context.
- Proven experience designing and operating large-scale, multi-tenant SaaS platforms with tenant isolation, data partitioning, and high-availability requirements.
- Expert-level proficiency in at least two of: TypeScript/Node.js, Python, Angular, React.
- Strong experience with React and Tailwind CSS for building modern, component-driven frontend interfaces.
- Solid understanding of modern cloud infrastructure (AWS strongly preferred), CI/CD pipelines, and containerization.
- Experience with test automation strategies across the testing pyramid (unit, integration, E2E) and integrating automated testing into agentic workflows.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Software Engineering, or a related technical field (required).
- Master's or Ph.D. in a related discipline (preferred, especially for the Principal level).
It would be great if you have or are pursuing the following:
- Experience with MCP (Model Context Protocol) server development and integration for extending agent capabilities into proprietary systems and data sources.
- Hands-on experience with Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or similar AI coding assistants in addition to Claude Code.
- Background in educational technology (EdTech) or identity management / SSO / SAML / SCIM systems.
- Experience with Playwright or Cypress for end-to-end test automation.
- Familiarity with cost optimization for AI infrastructure (e.g., AWS Bedrock, API token management, model selection strategies).
- Track record of leading pilot programs, managing phased rollouts, and driving organization-wide technology adoption.
- Experience with PostgreSQL at scale, including schema design for multi-tenant workloads, performance tuning, and migration strategies.
This role is 100% remote eligible, with quarterly strategy meetings that are in-person.
