Position SummaryThe UCLA Teaching & Learning Center (TLC) is seeking an AI Specialist for Teaching and Learning (Instructional Designer 3). This individual will serve as an expert on the intersection of AI technologies and teaching and learning to facilitate the exploration, testing, and instructor training on impactful AI-enabled instructional practices for teaching and course design.
This role will advance the applied integration of AI tools across UCLA, with particular attention to accessibility, inclusion, and a range of discipline-specific needs. The AI Specialist will collaborate with campus partners, particularly Academic Technology groups in Digital and Technology Solutions (DTS) and the UCLA Library, to pilot and evaluate AI tools, research and develop service models aligned with instructor needs, and support implementation of AI initiatives in conformance with strategic priorities established by the Vice Provost for Teaching and Learning. This role advances UCLA’s commitment to inclusive excellence by helping educators adopt equity-minded, research-informed, and innovative instructional approaches, playing a key part in shaping how AI is thoughtfully and responsibly integrated into teaching and learning at UCLA. This position reports to the Senior Advisor to the Vice Provost for Teaching and Learning for Digital Accessibility.

Qualifications Education, Licenses, Certifications & Personal AffiliationsBachelor's Degree Bachelor's degree in related field (e.g., education, instructional design, information technology, education technology, computer science, or a related discipline); or equivalent education/experience. (Required) Or
Master's Degree Master's degree or other advanced training in a relevant field. (Preferred)
