At the Alumni Association, we inspire lifelong connections with a global network of Maryland alums. In an effort to achieve this vision, we connect, cultivate and channel the power of alumni to enrich themselves and advance the university through membership, event engagement, and volunteerism.
The Alumni Marketing Coordinator will be responsible for managing email marketing strategies for the Alumni Association. This includes the management of activities related to email marketing including creation, editing, evaluation and enhancement.
The Coordinator will collaborate with all Alumni Association teams, key volunteers and the Alumni Marketing team in the Office of Marketing and Communications to execute marketing strategies designed to engage 431,000+ alumni with their alma mater. They will analyze communication strategies and data to make recommendations on the most effective methods for outreach to engage constituents, thus improving communication efforts in order to increase attendance at events and engagement with the Alumni Association.
This position is integral to the success of our organization with opportunities for professional growth and development. The Coordinator will join a high performing, energetic team that works toward achieving the mission and vision of the Alumni Association and the university.
Preferences:
-2-3 years email marketing experience
-1 year higher education experience
-Experience using email marketing platforms, such as Salesforce, MailChimp, etc.
-Experience using graphic creation program Canva
-Proven track record of making data-driven decisions
-Keen attention to detail
-Creative thinker
-Organized, proactive communicator
-Ability to manage multiple competing priorities while meeting deadlines
Physical Demands:
-Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards.
-Ability to work some evenings and weekends as necessary
-Ability to lift or move up to 25 pounds
-Local or out of state travel less than 5%

Minimum Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. Experience: One (1) year of professional communications or marketing experience. Other: Additional work experience as defined above may be substituted on a year for year basis for up to four (4) years of the required education. Knowledge of communications and marketing. Skill in oral and written communication.Skill in the use of Microsoft Office products. Ability to multitask and prioritize assignments.Ability to multitask while demonstrating a commitment to customer service and sensitivity to a culturally and ethnically diverse community.
