KIPP St. Louis currently educates over 2,000 students and at full growth, we will educate nearly 3,600 students and hundreds of alumni. Today, our St. Louis network consists of two middle schools, three elementary schools, and a high school. 

Job Description
Working at KIPP St. Louis High School, you’re an enthusiastic educator engaging in students’ pursuits outside of the traditional classroom setting. You support students to express themselves through drawing, painting, and furthering their artistic understanding. You develop lessons that increase student skills and create culturally relevant artistic expression. You can engage students across St. Louis as an Art teacher at KIPP St. Louis Public Schools.

Position Types: Full-time, Exempt, 10 months
On a day-to-day basis, you can look forward to the following:
Curriculum Development and Instruction
  • Adapt and execute a rigorous, standards-aligned curriculum
  •  Develop academically rigorous lessons, unit plans, rubrics, and assessments
  •  Use data to inform instructional decisions
  •  Provide students with daily feedback on performance and plan for individual learning needs
Help Build a Positive School and Classroom Culture
  • Embody and maintain the school’s values, policies, and culture
  •  Develop positive relationships with students, families, teachers, and staff
  •  Establish and maintain strong communication with all parents and share progress
  •  Effectively supervise and manage a classroom of up to 30 students
  •  Show up for critical school events, including staff meetings, open houses, parent-teacher conferences, and more
Demonstrate a Growth Mindset
  • Pursue challenging professional goals each year
  • Give and receive positive and constructive feedback from your colleagues
  • Participate in school-wide and individual professional development

Qualifications
What you bring to the table: 
  • Bachelor’s degree  (REQUIRED)
  • Valid Missouri Art K-12 Certification or Missouri Substitute Certification or willingness to become certified ASAP  (REQUIRED)
  • Experience creating an Art curriculum 
  • Experience teaching Art in a school setting
  • Pass Criminal Background Check
  • Demonstrated commitment to closing the opportunity gap
