The Coordinator Senior for ASASU provides direct advising support to Undergraduate Student Government-West Valley and -Downtown Phoenix for Associated Students of Arizona State University (ASASU) daily operations. In this role, the Coordinator Senior provides advisement, strategic vision, and leadership to the Student Leaders of these Student Governments. Under the direction of the Director of ASASU, the Coordinator Senior for ASASU performs a broad scope of advising and programmatic duties while working independently and exercising professional judgement.

Essential Duties:
- Contribute to a work environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for, and development of skills to engage with members of the community and the community at large from diverse backgrounds.
- Advance student experiences to cultivate community, healthfulness, and skill building.
- Directly advises Undergraduate Student Government West Valley and Downtown day-to-day operations.
- Communicate the work of the USG-West Valley and USG-Downtown Phoenix to Dean of Students.
- Work cooperatively with the Deans of Students to advance goals and objectives.
- Support the logistics and operations of University Boards and Committees.
- Support operations and logistics for the annual Academic Bowl.
- Support student-run processes such as appropriations, bylaws, and trainings that enhance the student experience.
- Support advising University-wide teams
- Work cooperatively with the Business Operations Team and Student Organizations team to support Student Government's connection to Clubs and Organizations.
- Provide strategic planning and leadership for the implementation, delivery and evaluation of programs and services that are consistent with the mission and goals of the University.
- Assess student needs and interests; utilize relevant data, scholarship, and student development theories and models in planning and developing programs and activities for assigned areas.
- Demonstrate role modeling, ethical decision-making, cultural competency, responsible management, and leadership for staff and students through all actions and communications.
- Represent Student Services through attendance and active participation at campus events and programs, university and off-campus committees, and community events and programs.
- Coordinate, compile and prepare reports, services measurements, and research effort.
- May serve as an Interim Advisor to other USGs and GSG.
- May recruit, hire, train, supervise professional and student employees.
- Serve on university and professional committees as requested.
Desired Qualifications:
- Evidence of an advanced degree, preferably in Higher and Post-secondary Education, College Student Personnel, Public Administration or a related field
- Demonstrated knowledge of student organization and student government advising strategies
- Demonstrated experience in advising college/university student organizations.
- Track record of creating and executing diverse student programming within a higher education or similar context, including workshops, presentations, and events.
- Proven ability to train students for leadership roles and cultivate strong relationships with both student and professional staff.
- Expertise in effectively coordinating and prioritizing tasks for oneself and others, with a comprehensive understanding of university policy interpretation.
- Strong aptitude in establishing and nurturing productive working relationships.
- Proficiency in budgeting and comprehension of accounting principles.
- Substantial experience collaborating with diverse populations.
- Documented evidence showcasing exceptional communication skills.
- Evidence of effective written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of management principles and practices, project management and coordination of activities
- Skill in organizing resources, establishing priorities and implementing research
- Experience working independently and as part of a team
Working Environment:
- Work collaboratively across various departments within the University as well as with diverse populations and groups
- Use computers effectively - including inputting, reviewing and retrieving information, extended periods of viewing screen and using mouse and keyboard
- Use critical thinking to make decisions and/or analyze data
- Communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- Attend various meetings or events throughout campus, regardless of the weather
- Work collaboratively to achieve objectives
- This position primary sits on the West Valley and Downtown Phoenix ASU locations with travel between ASU locations is weekly.
Department Statement: Educational Outreach and Student Services (EOSS) is committed to enrolling all qualified students at Arizona State University and assisting them in their academic success. EOSS provides a broad range of services and support to students and prospective students ranging from outreach efforts with K-12 schools, orientation programs for new freshman, bridge programs to assist the transition to a university environment, and a wide variety of services, programs and activities for enrolled students. EOSS has direct responsibility for multiple departments across four campuses, some of which include the Dean of Students, University Housing, Health Services, Counseling Services, Disability Resources, the Memorial Union, TRIO programs, Sun Devil Fitness, Student Government, Student Media, Career Services, Access ASU and others
