Assessment Consultant Full Description

The Assessment Consultant (Education) is responsible for driving sales in their territory by leveraging deep knowledge of Clinical Assessment products to provide tailored solutions to customers. As thought leaders, they help clients adopt technology-enhanced assessment tools, drawing on professional expertise from formal education and field experience.

The Assessment Consultant serves as a trusted advisor to educators, school psychologists, administrators, and other education professionals, providing expertise in standardized assessments and digital solutions. By combining deep knowledge of educational assessment with consultative sales skills, this role supports schools and districts in implementing effective screening, evaluations, and progress monitoring to drive improved student outcomes. Success requires identifying opportunities, delivering high-quality consultation, and achieving growth by meeting sales goals. Focused on the Canadian education market, the position partners with teachers, special education teams, and administrators to ensure solutions align with instructional and intervention needs.

A strong understanding of market trends and emerging needs in education is essential for success in this role, along with an eye for enterprise-level selling to support large-scale implementations across districts and provinces. Key responsibilities include achieving annual territory sales targets, anticipating customer needs, providing pre-sales consultation, supporting technology integration, and guiding educators through decision-making. A successful Assessment Consultant will expand business and meet sales objectives by uncovering impactful opportunities and delivering expert guidance throughout the customer relationship.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver on assigned revenue goals through consulting with customers and executing comprehensive sales plans with a focus on products, training, and licensing solutions.

  • Uncover enterprise growth opportunities within designated territory.

  • Facilitate customer consultations, both virtually and in person, to present product information, demonstrations, and comprehensive solutions.

  • Attend national and regional conferences and events to meet customers, gain market feedback, and generate sales opportunities.

  • Be knowledgeable of market trends, industry news, and competitive landscape.

  • Work collaboratively with Sales, Marketing, Product Management, and other internal business teams to further drive growth in territory

Required Skills and Experience

  • Proven track record of previous sales success. Asks for the sale!

  • Prior industry experience OR knowledge of clinical/school assessment or psychometrics is an asset.

  • Experience building relationships within an assigned territory to expand sales.

  • Prior experience with Salesforce or other comparable CRM platforms for effective pipeline management and forecasting.

  • Understanding of market sales cycle, and effectively navigates steps in sales process with multiple stakeholders.

  • Team player with a positive attitude and commitment to exceeding sales objectives.

  • Forward-thinking, strategic focus on Technology sales and growth within assigned market (Digital assessment, iPad delivery, etc.)

  • Experience and familiarity with AI, and a bias towards implementation in the role.

  • Well organized, with excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to deliver formal presentations to customers and at provincial/national conferences.

Travel

The position requires a willingness to travel up to 30% of the time. The position also requires that the individual be comfortable in a relatively independent working environment, with primary contact with team members being virtual.

Reporting Structure

Assessment Consultant (Education) will report to the designated Regional Sales Manager.

The full-time salary range is CA$75,000.
