Job Summary
The Assistant Dean of Strategic Enrollment Management provides strategic leadership for enrollment planning, recruitment, admissions, CRM management, enrollment analytics, and market intelligence at Brite Divinity School, overseeing the systems, processes, and personnel that support enrollment success. As Brite's primary strategist for enrollment planning and analytics, the Assistant Dean partners with faculty and administrative leaders, as a member of the Dean's leadership team, to develop an integrated approach to recruitment, enrollment, student persistence, and degree completion.
Duties & Essential Job Functions:
Enrollment Strategy and Intelligence
- Develops and implements a comprehensive enrollment strategy aligned with institutional mission and long-term sustainability goals.
- Builds and maintains predictive enrollment models and forecasts at institutional, programmatic, and cohort levels to inform budgeting, staffing, and strategic initiatives.
- Establishes an institutional enrollment intelligence framework identifying leading indicators, trends, risks, and opportunities across the enrollment pipeline.
- Monitors demographic, technological, ecclesial, and higher education trends to identify opportunities for new programs, markets, and recruitment strategies.
- Defines, monitors, and communicates KPIs related to recruitment, admissions, yield, persistence, and discount rate.
- Designs and maintains dashboards and reporting systems translating complex data into actionable insights for faculty, leadership, and governing bodies.
- Conducts market research, demographic analysis, and peer benchmarking to identify emerging opportunities and new student constituencies.
- Prepares enrollment data and narrative for accreditation reporting, institutional self-study, and grant proposals.
Admissions and Enrollment Operations
- Provides strategic oversight of admissions and recruitment operations through supervision of admissions staff.
- Leads application review processes, faculty admissions committee procedures, decision protocols, and communication strategies.
- Serves as functional owner and strategic administrator of the CRM (currently Slate), including architecture, workflow design, and integration with the student information system.
- Develops and continuously improves admissions policies, procedures, and operational workflows, ensuring compliance with institutional policies and accreditation standards.
Scholarship Strategy and Enrollment Yield
- Collaborates with institutional leadership on strategic scholarship and financial aid models that advance enrollment goals while supporting sustainability.
- Conducts scholarship leveraging and discount-rate analyses; recommends data-informed scholarship allocation strategies.
- Designs, implements, and assesses yield strategies from admission through matriculation, including melt analysis and intervention strategies.
Student Persistence Planning and Analytics
- Monitors and analyzes student persistence, retention, stop-out, re-enrollment, and degree completion trends.
- Develops dashboards and predictive indicators supporting institutional understanding of factors affecting student success.
- Partners with the Assistant Dean of Students and other campus leaders to identify barriers to persistence and recommend data-informed interventions.
Leadership and Collaboration
- Supervises, develops, and evaluates the admissions staff and manages the enrollment operating budget.
- Serves as the institution's chief enrollment strategist, presenting enrollment intelligence to faculty, executive leadership, board committees, and external stakeholders.
- Collaborates with the Assistant Dean of Students to align enrollment planning and retention objectives across the student lifecycle.
Required Education & Experience:
- Master's degree required.
- 6 or more years of progressively responsible leadership experience in enrollment management, admissions, institutional research, or a closely related field.
- Experience in enrollment analytics, predictive modeling, forecasting, funnel analysis, and strategic planning.
- Experience managing CRM platforms; Slate experience strongly preferred.
Preferred Education & Experience:
- Experience in theological education, graduate professional education, seminary administration, or faith-based higher education.
- Experience recruiting adult learners, second-career professionals, and geographically distributed students.
- Experience with financial aid leveraging, scholarship modeling, and tuition revenue analysis.
