University of South Carolina is hiring an Assistant Director. This role leads and assists in supervising personnel and programs within the Department of Student Leadership & Engagement, focusing on leadership programming, parent and family engagement, student supervision, community service initiatives, and event planning. The position requires developing and managing community service programs, facility management, serving as an advisor to student groups, and overseeing immersive service/educational series.
Highlights
Develop and evaluate community service and volunteer outreach programs, including immersive service experiences.
Manage Student Activities Center facility usage, repairs, and communication according to policies.
Advise traditional student events and student groups such as the College Panhellenic Council and One Table.
Co-oversee immersive service and educational series in collaboration with the Office of Institutional Culture & Belonging.
Hire, train, and supervise student employees and assist with program development and strategic planning.
Requires bachelor's degree in a related field and two or more years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of certification, education, and experience.
Must possess a valid driver's license and be available for some late night and weekend work.
Preferred experience includes student organization management, event planning, community service engagement, and facilities management.
Knowledge of student development theories, group development techniques, public relations, personnel supervision, budget development, and effective communication skills is required.
Starting salary approximately $45,133 annually with full-time, 12-month employment status.
