Assistant Director, Financial Aid Operations Full Description

Position Summary: The Assistant Director of Financial Aid Operations will assist in oversight of graduate/professional awarding, special programs and other aid initiatives. Serve as the point of contact between schools and the Office of Financial Aid regarding Graduate and Professional (G&P) student awarding, coordinating all aspects of awarding, service priorities, and G&P operational processes. Provide guidance and student services to Graduate and Professional students.

Qualifications: Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree

Preferred Education:
Master's Degree Higher Education or other related field

Required Experience:
3+ years Relevant professional level experience or equivalent combination. Must include experience with Peoplesoft Campus Solutions module (Financial Aid, Student Records, Student Financials, Academic Advisement, Campus Community, Admissions, etc.) or its equivalent.

Preferred Experience:
5+ years Prior supervisory experience and/or demonstration of increased responsibilities managing interconnected data and data systems within higher education or financial services fields.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, a dedication to excellent service to students, families, and colleagues. Familiarity with automated student financial aid systems, ability to identify process issues, make recommendations and collaborate on process and system enhancements. Knowledge of financial aid need analysis and federal/state financial aid programs. Ability to interpret and apply complex laws, policies and procedures. Familiarity with spreadsheet and database software applications.

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Fluency in Microsoft Excel, SQL. Ability to run wide range of reports proactively and reactively to support day to day financial aid monitoring, longer term planning and troubleshooting. Comfortable to organize and present information clearly to large and small audiences, representing NYU accordingly.

Additional Information: In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $75,000.00 to USD $95,000.00. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
