This position oversees the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of HR systems and reporting tools to support organizational goals. The Assistant Director ensures data integrity, security, and efficient use of HR technologies, while serving as a key liaison between HR, IT, institutional leadership, and external agencies. Description of Duties | Leads the planning, execution, and evaluation of HRIS initiatives, ensuring alignment with institutional objectives and compliance with internal policies and external reporting requirements. Oversees and manages complex data analysis and reporting functions, including the preparation and submission of key reports such as IPEDS, FTE, and other mandated workforce reports. Ensures the security and confidentiality of HR data through the enforcement of access protocols, audit processes, and compliance with data governance policies. Leads cross-functional teams in the planning and execution of HR technology projects, including system upgrades, enhancements, and new implementations. Collaborates closely with the Payroll department to ensure HRIS data supports accurate and timely payroll processing, including new hires, terminations, compensation adjustments, and leave tracking. Continuously improves HR processes by leveraging technology, maximizing the efficiency of HR systems, and implementing new functionalities. Oversees data validation before payroll cycles and coordinates system audits to ensure consistency between HR and payroll systems. Oversees the configuration and maintenance of payroll-related fields in the HR system (e.g., pay grades, earnings codes, deduction codes). Works with Payroll to troubleshoot and resolve data discrepancies and system issues impacting applicable fields. Assists with year-end payroll activities including W-2 validation, ACA reporting, and other federally mandated reports. Supervises the development and delivery of HR data reports for internal departments and external stakeholders, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and timeliness. Directs the design, implementation, and optimization of HR systems and workflows. Serves as the department’s senior reporting authority and subject matter expert for HR systems, providing high-level guidance on data use, reporting standards, and system capabilities. Collaborates with IT, Payroll, Institutional Research, and executive leadership to define data structures, reporting standards, and integration points for enterprise systems. Provides leadership and mentoring to HRIS staff and others involved in data management, reporting, and HR system operations. Monitors industry trends and emerging technologies to identify opportunities for innovation in HRIS strategies, tools, and processes. Performs other job-related duties assigned.
