Assistant Director of Admission Full Description

As an assistant director of admission, you will travel extensively to strategically targeted areas, representing SCAD to prospective students at school-specific initiatives, information sessions, college fairs, conferences, and other recruitment events. At these events, you will build ongoing professional and institutional relationships and deliver presentations that highlight SCAD's programs, facilities, and opportunities. You will use storytelling techniques to give engaging presentations that capture the audience's attention. Among other duties, you will follow up with prospective students through various methods to discuss their interests and questions about university opportunities to ensure they are a good fit for SCAD.

In this role, you will review and assess application files to ensure they are complete and meet admission requirements. You will also offer personalized counseling to prospective students and their families to help with the admission and enrollment process. Responsibilities include recruitment activity record management; prompt entry of planned, confirmed, and completed event data; and participation in LivePerson and online chat session coverage. Additionally, you will track documents and communication with applicants and stay informed about all university policies and procedures.

The ideal candidate demonstrates strong interpersonal communication and presentation skills to engage diverse audiences. They can effectively prioritize tasks while working independently. Additionally, they are passionate about the arts and enthusiastic about promoting SCAD.

Minimum qualifications:   
  • Bachelor's degree 
  • Proficiency in computer databases and office productivity software
  • Ability to travel extensively and work flexible hours 
Preferred qualifications:   
  • Previous experience in college admission, student recruitment, or a related field
  • Experience with Banner and Salesforce
Certificates, licenses, and registrations:
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Valid passport
Travel required: More than 50% 

Work hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
