Job Summary | The Assistant Director of Career Services is responsible for aiding the Director in all manner of services and events hosted by the Office of Career Services. In particular, the Assistant Director will focus on upperclassmen and their career needs including, but not limited to the following: Career fair and event planning with departments and colleges on campus to offer more direct employer events centered around specific colleges, departments, and/or majors. Focus on experiential learning opportunities for students in order to provide real-life work exposure and experience. Develop surveys and coordinate data collection on employer events and student professional development. Recruit employers for a centralized internship program, working in conjunction with departments at TROY that do not already have a coordinated internship structure as well as ensure correct student learning outcomes for those experiences. Other duties include office management of students and interns, coordinating workshops and classroom visits, assisting students with professional skill development such as mock interviewing and resume resumes, and more. The successful candidate will have strong interpersonal and organizational skills and work collaboratively with a wide variety of stakeholders, including employers, students, alumni, faculty, and staff across Troy University. This position reports to the Director of the Troy University Office of Career Services. Researches and stays informed on hiring practices, employment trends, and other labor-related issues, and shares lessons learned with entire career services staff. Manage the office recruiting management system (Handshake). Oversee the posting of job descriptions and other relevant information and coordinates sign-up procedures and deadlines for students participating in employer recruiting programs and other related activities.
Minimum Qualifications | Bachelor’s Degree Minimum of one year of experience in higher education or human resources.
Preferred Qualifications | Master’s Degree Skills in working with multiple stakeholder groups, especially in the areas of higher education or human resources/hiring. Two or more years managing programs and supervising staff.

Work Hours | Primarily Monday through Friday from 8:00a.m. to 5:00p.m., with occasional evening and weekend functions required. Some travel required.
