Assistant Director of Graduate Recruitment Full Description

The University of Oregon is hiring an Assistant Director of Graduate Recruitment in Eugene, OR, within the College of Design (DSGN) Office of Student Services. This is a regular, ongoing, full-time (1.0 FTE) position reporting to the Director of Recruitment, Enrollment, and Student Success.

Position Summary
The Assistant Director of Graduate Recruitment will interface with potential students through the selection and admission process of the program, developing and generating student leads for Design graduate programs through various venues (face to face, phone, online, and on and off-campus events) and providing counseling on program attributes. The position requires extensive domestic and occasional international travel to recruiting events, frequently held evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities
  • Participate in the admission and application process by conducting interviews and reviewing application materials.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of admission requirements to render admission decisions and/or scholarship awards.
  • Monitor application progress from start to completion and assist in identifying and resolving issues along the way.
  • Review and evaluate data throughout the admission process to provide weekly, monthly, and yearly reporting.
  • Conduct meetings with key stakeholders and coordinate and assist in creating communications to new student leads, prospective students, and admitted students.

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree or four years of equivalent education and experience.
  • Three years of recruitment, admission, or sales experience.

Professional Competencies
  • Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate effectively with prospective students from a variety of backgrounds.
  • Excellent public speaking and presentation skills.
  • Ease in using technology for communication, record keeping, and management of data.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of recruitment and admissions at an accredited college or university.
