Pay Range Information | Chapman University is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this position. This range takes into account a variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. Salary offers are determined based on the final candidate’s qualifications and experience, as well as internal equity and other internal factors. The anticipated pay range is not a promise of a particular wage.
Position Summary Information
Job Description Summary | The Assistant Director of Operations for the Argyros College of Business and Economics (ACBE) is responsible for a breadth of financial activities, operational, and event management that will support the future success of the ACBE. The Assistant Director will work support the Assistant Dean of Operations with all ACBE financial and operational activities.
Responsibilities | Financial Operations Support Knowledge of PeopleSoft Financials including financial reports, budgets, and purchase requisitions. Supervise daily AP and Purchasing approvals to ensure compliance with University Fiscal Policy. Assist in developing and preparing annual budgets for the centers, departments, faculty and staff. Compile financial estimates and quotes for facility operations and purchases. Be the liaison with accounting and purchasing departments in resolving issues and payments. Support the Assistant Dean and Dean on strategic operational needs. Ensure the prompt and accurate processing and payment of Purchase Orders, invoices, and requisitions. General Operations Provide assistance with facilities issues and requests, including building maintenance and other issues. Serve as a resource for faculty and staff related to administrative processes, policies and procedures. Assist in the execution of ACBE dean events, when needed.
Required Qualifications | Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination in education and experience. At least 2-3 years of experience in providing medium-to-high-level operational and financial support to management. Strong analytical skills to assess situations, obtain appropriate information and make sound judgement and independent decisions appropriate for the position level. Strong oral communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact and work with a diverse group. Proven ability to comprehend processes and take a given task from beginning to completion. Ability to demonstrate initiative without constant supervision. Proven ability to prioritize and complete tasks efficiently and accurately in a busy work environment with many interruptions. Strong commitment to teamwork. Experience using Concur, PeopleSoft, PeopleAdmin, Cascade and 25Live software programs. Knowledge of Argyros College programs, services and processes.
Desired Qualifications | At least 3 years of experience planning, managing and executing events.
